Beckett’s Vampire Folio 29: Jyhad Breaker Beckett's Vampire Folios do a great job of distilling material from Beckett's Jyhad Diary into something that is easily useable by Storytellers. Each volume of the Foilo details the NPC's that appear in the corresponding chapter of the Diary. As this is the last of the Beckett Vampire Folio, the Tabletop Gaming Club hopes that High Level Games decides to continue the folio series featuring characters from other vampire book. The Tabletop Gaming Club highly recommends this product to any storyteller wanting to feature events from Beckett's Jyahd Diary. ...

The Thousand Sanctioned Beasts — Martial Artists
by Anthony D.
Publisher: White Wolf
Date Added: 04/14/2019 18:18:46
The Thousand Sanctioned Beasts — Martial Artists When I ran Exalted 3e, the biggest problem I would have was coming up with interesting combat encounters. The Adversaries of the Righteous series is nice, but it's so damned specific. What Rand has done with Thousand Sanctioned Beasts is a flexible, useful, interesting framework for more general encounters, derived from 13th Age. Here we have initiate/adept/master QC stats for martial artists along with eight schools and different abilities to go with them-- and additional stats for "Starry Eyed Master," "Yin-Yang master" and "Left Hand Path Master" -- respectively Sidereal, Getiminian and weirdly infernally empowered but not actually infernal. Taken together this gets you a lot of mooks, some interesting mid-range combatants, and a decent number of boss-fight, along with a strong seasoning of kung fu flavor for your Exalted game. It's *extremely* useful to anyone running the game, and I hope to see more products developed in this style. ...

M20 Gods & Monsters
by Terry R.
Publisher: Onyx Path Publishing
Date Added: 04/13/2019 17:27:09
M20 Gods & Monsters Gods and Monsters fills a number of gaps left in the line up for M20 like Companions, Familiars, spirit-forms, god-heads, and a fair number of Bygones. There are still considerable holes not yet filled but Technocracy Reloaded and Book of the Fallen but a book they have to come out in some **Good parts:** * Every creature is illustrated * The rules for roll-your-own entities are remarkably thorough and cover "sentient cell phone" through "embodiment of an island in the form of a dragon". Which says something. * The crossover rules are exceptional and do a remarkably good job of allowing a storyteller to introduce other lines very quickly without buying a 600 page X20 book. * Entities are introduced along either a theme or in a family. The section on Yaruba through Afro-Caribbean through Louisianna voodoo is reasonably fleshed out and doesn't have just one example for a given idea. * Stats for "normies" are given such as for kids and the old. Sometimes it's useful to know ho...

Masters of Jade

Masters of Jade WARNING: I bought the pdf copy for six dollars. I read another review saying the paper quality of the actual book is poor compared to others in the same product line. Heads up! This title is about The Guild and how they have built a trade network from the ground up that spans creation. The Guild is composed mostly of mortals, not creatures of the night and especially not the Solar Exalted. The Guild was built after the fall of the first age by mortals that felt betrayed/abandoned during the collapse. I like economic games video games and pen and paper games that incorporate stream lined rules for businesses. Masters of Jade did a fantastic job of this and if your interested, check out "Worlds Apart" and "A Song of Fire and Ice" for good economic/organization rules. I've read a lot of White Wolf products and created many creatures of night with my players over the years. The most reviled of all the creatures of the night used to be the Fae/Changelings before I experience...

M20 Gods & Monsters
by Akaki K.

M20 Gods & Monsters It's okay. Book is interesting, but not outstanding. To me, book splits into two part - human characters 17-77pg (why are these in book called Gods and Monster I'll never know), and actual gods and monsters. The human part of the book is garbage. Aiming to please the current guardians of social fashion, a book supposedly about Traditions drives SJW meter over 9000. Why is such a theme central in *Gods and Monsters* fantasy book I'll never know. I paid to see see Gods and Monsters, not page upon page of short bio's. The monster part is incomparably better, the creators finally diverged from the standard European variety that is already famous enough. Still feel the book missed a lot for greater censorship and lack of space (due staffing half of it with bio's). But still, this part of the book is pretty good, especially if you're not into reading side material on myth and folklore. My greatest beef is with the art. The art has lost cartoony, glossy feeling of the M20, but wen...

Storyteller Quick Reference Charts

Storyteller Quick Reference Charts This is one of those supplements you pick up because you just want some quick reference charts. It delivers. It's well formatted in my opinion and it's something that can be shared with your players (should they need it) without worrying about all of the additional graphics most supplements come with (like the official game screen)

Charts of Darkness: Vampire
by Jerome L.
Publisher: White Wolf
Date Added: 04/12/2019 02:03:41
Charts of Darkness: Vampire The good: the charts and the ideas behind them, especially the Sabbat name list. With new people coming to the game with V5 this will help new people to the game (or new people to V20 which is still getting plenty of play time). The meh: formatting. While this might be weak it really is a minor point. If you are buying this packet it's for the information contained, not for fancy graphs and side bars. But I won't lie when I say it does help to touch that part of this supplement up. If it's done right, with a font used in the original game books, it will go from looking like one of the old Vampire geocities fan sites to a slick product. Bought it during the sale but for .50 cents can you really say no?...

Fiends and Foes: Ready Made Antagonists for V20
by Jerome L.
Publisher: White Wolf
Date Added: 04/12/2019 01:58:27
Fiends and Foes: Ready Made Antagonists for V20 Overall I like the product and it will work for those in need of a quick fix in most cases. However for a supplement specifically designed to cut down on some of the leg work, some of the characters will need some reworking. For example: the Sabbat Inquisitors is woefully underpowered to fight the causes of their namesake. No one is physically inclined and in fact this seems to be a gaping hole in their tactics. It's stated they are seeking to rout out the infernal and the heretical, yet 2 of them lack any ability to see it (no Alertness or Awareness). There are similar problems throughout the character sheets themselves. Most lack any ability to dodge (Athletics) and others that are social characters lacking abilities like Expression and Subterfuge. Other issues that stand out is the Vampire with True Faith and only has a Humanity of 5 (which by the rules doesn't work) and the 8th gen vampire with 6 levels of Dominate. The idea for the packet is sound but more research is needed t...

Dark Shores: Lineages of the Great Lakes
by DSC T. G. C. _.
Publisher: White Wolf
Date Added: 04/11/2019 16:41:05
Dark Shores: Lineages of the Great Lakes Dark Shores: Lineages of the Great Lakes is effectively a book on the Bloodlines of the Great Lake area. The Introduction serves basically as a brief history of the Great Lakes region, while the five chapters each introduce an unique bloodline. Some the bloodlines are offshoots of other clans, the Halloways coming from Ventrue, the Poachers coming from Nosferatu and the Brickheads coming from Gargoyles. The Crimson Deer flush out the childre of Yaryan who originally appearedin Chicago by Night. Finally the Markus' Fellowship introduces a bloodline of vampires with their own unique form of blood magic. The book's appendix is dedicated to new abilities, disciplines, merits and flaws. The Tabletop Gaming club really enjoyed using the book. The each bloodline brought something new and unique the table. It was a welcome addition to the club's gaming library and it would be a welcome addition to any storyteller's library....

Curse of the O'Tolley's Burger
by MacKenzie C.

Curse of the O'Tolley's Burger Not bad. Over all not too bad. For the price, you get about what you paid for. A nice story hook that's beyond a simple paragraph. It's actually about 2 pages of material. Nice hook. The 'why's are not explained too much, but are more or less left up to the Storyteller. This isn't a horrible thing. It lets you have some options but leaves it a little open ended for some people's tastes. The concept was a decent one. Thing is the 'title' doesn't really fit the product. There's a mention of O'Tolley's but it's not the actual thrust of the story, and is only tagently connected to the story. I may have gone with something like "The Organic Plague" or something. I'm a big fan of O'Tolley's so I'd hoped for... well More O'Tolley's I suppose. Not quite a bait and switch, but I feel that the title is a touch misleading. Again this isn't horrible. It's not a bad product. I'd have given about 2.5 if that was an option. The writing could be polished a bit, but there's nothing too ...
