Fae: The Dark Ages Color Templates Thanks so much for this! As a huge fan of DA:Fae I had every intent of making a SV product for this line... but now I get to make one with even more jazz than the original! Incredible. Hats off to the SV team.

Clanbook - Lhiannan
by Jerome L.
Publisher: White Wolf

Clanbook - Lhiannan I feel bad for the low rating so I feel obliged to explain why. 1) I was expecting more. 9 pages is the listed count, over half of that is taken up with images. Page 1 is the cover image, page 2 is essentially an inside cover image (which would have been fine if the file had been much more substantial) 3rd page is the credits which of course is required, page 4 and 5 are just images. Page 5 has an image of a wolf which is just barely offset but gives me the impression this was placed to stretch out the page count because it really isn't needed. Same thing with page 6-9. In some cases, such as the cover and the image of the man on the final page, they look like they were stretched or otherwise not sitting proportionally. Layering the book cover in a graphic editor allowing the adjustment of the two figures without having to play with the proportions would make it look better. 2) The word count is very thin and it's riddled with gramatical errors. For example: "Thatdoesn’tmeanallL...

Rio de Janeiro by Night A truly amazing book that looks and feels like a professional product in the style of the official By Night books from the 90s updated to make it more useful. I love the NPC:s, the cool art and that each page drips with cool and style. One of the best books on the Vault.

SotM's Guide to Dying
by Shannon H.
Publisher: White Wolf
Date Added: 12/20/2018 17:30:31
SotM's Guide to Dying So often when a Storyteller is spooling up a Wraith: the Oblivion game, they become preoccupied with the setting of the chronicle – because Wraith can have *so many* – and the antagonistic factions at work within the chronicle – because, again, Wraith can have* so many* – that simple yet critical details get lost in the shuffle of things that happen in between character generation and the first night of sitting at the table to begin the story. Arguably, one of the most important things that seem to get left at the truck stop isn’t so much “How did your character die?” but rather the investment of time, thought and, in fact, emotion, that should be attached to the answering of that question. One of the things that makes Wraith: the Oblivion so emotional, and to be certain, one of the things that has endeared the game to those who love it the way that they do, is the emotional investment required of both the Storyteller and the characters who run and play the game, respectively. Wit...

SotM's Guide to Dying

SotM's Guide to Dying I *love* toolkit books like this. Short, sweet, to the point, without need for tons of flowery exposition. I found this short book to be quite helpful. Too often, I personally get a little bogged down by all of the metaphysical elements of Wraith. Granted, these elements are what makes the game more interesting, but in the end, it is about our characters. This book is a refreshing gathering of examples and inspiration. Ideas that might be used to inspire my next character, the next antagonist, or even a full blown storyline. After all...the passions behind why *anyone* becomes a wraith is what drives the whole game. I particularly like the introduction. Sure, we can all sit and brainstorm how a character died and how it affects them. But...having a bit of a "cheatsheet" of origins as they relate to the game can save a few minutes when preparing the next game session or story arc....

Awakenings

Awakenings Very fun! Several strong points, a few constructive criticisms for future releases. Overall it's an imaginative take on a small barony in Baltimore. There's some interesting setting ideas that need to be further fleshed out, but then, it's only a 15 page book for a reasonable introductory price, so that's is not an issue. The author has clearly done his research and has some well defined ideas on this setting. And the setting itself is well chosen, with great potential for further exploration. The adventure is a wonderful little exploration, excellent for setting up a chronicle in the region. It is definitely worth the price for the intro adventure into this setting, and I hope the remainder of the series is as well produced. The detail on the primary encounters is excellent, there's a great little mystery, and a few twists that are definitely fitting in mood and theme. The primary quibble I have with it is overuse of artwork. Odd, yes, considering the nature of ...

Chronicles of Darkness

Chronicles of Darkness I love Chronicles of Darkness Second Edition. In just about every way it is superior to the First Edition (which a lot of fans deemed "New World of Darkness" until rebranding) with one exception. I don't know how to feel about the condition mechanics. I think most people really like them, but I find them a bit cumbersom (from a thought process, not mechanically) and a bit forced. I will explain what I mean. Condtions are basically changes to your character either physically or mentally (and usually temporary) and they affect the game for your character in a mechanical way. A lot of time it is in the form of bonuses or negatives to certain rolls. Resolving these conditions can sometimes result in getting a beat (part of an experience dot), which incentivises the player to take conditions regularily. On the surface this seems like a really neat mechanic and a good way to get players to allow for complications to befall their characters willingly which can lead to interesting st...

To sup upon the city

To sup upon the city Although this work appears to be built for the authors own campaign, the work still is very good. It only really focuses on one area in Gary, indiana, but it captures the feel of the earier editions of Vampire. It details with feeding and humanity, both subjects that are often overlooked in many campaigns. The Tabletop Gaming club recommends this book, for its price its a worthwhile investment.

Enlightened Grimoire The Enlightend Grimoire is a well put together reference book, that puts a lot of information in one place. We could say lots of wonderful things about the work, but the bottom line is it just makes it easier to run a Mage campaign. The Tabletop Gaming Club strongly recommends the Enlightened Grimoire to all mage players

Exalted 3rd Edition

Exalted 3rd Edition I really wanted to love this, but there are just so many choices made in this book that run counter to what I feel makes a good game. And that has disappointed me to no end. I backed it on kickstarter and waited patiently for the follow-up to the first RPG I ever really played. I had hoped for a lighter, more table-friendly game, with a good flow and rules that were more focused on the bigger picture than the details. What works for me: The setting is cool as all heck. Anything that touches the world of creation is awesome. There are little hints and rumors that aren't immediatly explainable, which function great as inspiration for stories and adventure. If anything, the setting part of this book is too short, and more pages should have been assigned to this. What doesn't work for me: The artwork, most of it is dull and uninspired, there is no "freedom" to the art styles, most of it locked by tracing after 3-d models. Some are great, the cover in particular is very cool. The sys...

Beckett’s Vampire Folio 21: Azhi Dahaka A clean and well-detailed view of the four characters introduced in *Azhi Dahaka*. No more, no less, yet a lot of food for thought. But, the main course of this Folio are without doubt the Bogatyri, the bogeymen introduced in the old Tzimisce Clanbooks. This book offers a simple but inclusive description of such creatures to use in chronicles.
