New World of Darkness Rulebook (1st Edition)
by Ramon N. P.
Publisher: White Wolf
Date Added: 06/06/2023 14:53:58
pixel_trans.gif New World of Darkness Rulebook (1st Edition) When it came out in 2004, I thought YES. This is what I would liked the World of Darkness to be, as I grew apart from the metaplot and some of the wonkyness of the oWoD system. When I read Requiem, my opinion was confirmed. This book has a handy system for playing horror stories with humans in the World of Darkness. If you want to play a supernatural, you need additional books, but the copre system is here, and is an elegant and streamlined update (for 2004) of the World of Darkness system. The tone of the implied setting is extremely well realized, and the book is inspiring and full of possibilities. Definitely a great. ...

Umbral Pilots
by Dove &. S.
Publisher: White Wolf
Date Added: 06/04/2023 15:34:48
pixel_trans.gif Umbral Pilots This is the release I have been waiting for. In my years of playing this game, i've speculated on the sort of content for Umbra Travel that might be possible for Garou. A community of travelers, explorers who can acclimate to the environments of the Spirit World and the deep darkness of beyond. Now it is is, and with it comes Umbra Crafts, innovative and incredible Pack Crew play for your whole troupe. The author has done extensive research, both in Werewolf the Apocalypse and in the other splats under World of Darkness; scouring applicable information on the Umbra that is sure to be of great benefit for Werewolf Players as well as Mages in particular. I can see so much cross-over potential between the two splats with this release, but more importantly the content provided here allows for a Stand Alone Splat Space / Ether / Void adventure with your Garou. Prepare your Umbra Ship, empower it with a Caern and ready your Pack Crew Gifts, it's time to launch!...

Ghost Lineages: The Advanced Players' Guide to the Savage Age
by Dove &. S.
Publisher: White Wolf
Date Added: 06/04/2023 15:18:51
pixel_trans.gif Ghost Lineages: The Advanced Players' Guide to the Savage Age This book has been an absolute pleasure, providing nuance and detail to cover a history so old with so much for a Storyteller to choose to pull from to bring a new level of depth and meaning to their games! I strongly recommend this book, as a Fera player especially this material brings light to the ancient mysteries that were only hinted at in previous releases.

Vampire, Twentieth Anniversary Edition: The Classical Age
by Bavo T.
Publisher: White Wolf
Date Added: 06/04/2023 11:39:05
pixel_trans.gif Vampire, Twentieth Anniversary Edition: The Classical Age Though the material is expansive and has promise, what is frankly poor presentation makes it an unpleasant read and currently unsuited as a product in my opinion. The writing, often one of the main selling points of the WOD universe, feels coarse and rough in many places. As if someone did a first pass to translate a lot of it, but never went back to finish the job. Furthermore, the book is filled with odd syntax, spelling errors, mistranslations (sometimes comically so, substituting "The Hug" for "The Embrace") and here and there entire paragraphs stay untranslated (Page 57, Ravnos for instance). In one or two places entire pages are missing. It feels very much like paying full price for a product that is still in Alpha or early Beta. Furthermore, the PDF does not come pre-bookmarked, the content table does not provide a hyperlink structure and there is no index. This makes the book fairly useless as a sourcebook during play. The content of the book, once you get...

Dark Eras: Requiem for Rome 2nd Edition
by Christopher G.
Publisher: White Wolf
Date Added: 06/03/2023 17:19:32
pixel_trans.gif Dark Eras: Requiem for Rome 2nd Edition For fantastic VtR2e books, somehow all roads lead to None More Dark Publishing. They've written a fantastic book on how to best play your blood-hungry fanged Roman. This book is nothing short of a godsend for VtR2e players, with new options for players, storytellers, and shadow birbs alike. The shadow birbs may have destroyed the Camarilla, but for now, unlive like Rome never fell. *Carpe Diem.*

Dark Eras: Requiem for Rome 2nd Edition
by Oisin M.
Publisher: White Wolf
Date Added: 06/02/2023 19:10:59
pixel_trans.gif Dark Eras: Requiem for Rome 2nd Edition This book is really something special. There is so much content in here (almost 300 pages!) that it's impossible to cover it all. Between the updated Clans and Wings (all of whom now come with mechanical benefits, like the Covenants in Requiem 2e), new Merits, reworked and expanded Blood Sorcery, War and Debate subsystems, Errata, new Clans and Bloodlines, updated systems for the Strix, six eras of Roman history to play in, and even appendices on Roman names and worship. This book exceeds the original Requiem for Rome in my opinion (not an easy feat) and even comes with a 2.5 update of Vampire: the Requiem as well! Absolutely recommended for all Requiem players....

Player's Guide to the Contagion Chronicle
by Tristan S.
Publisher: Onyx Path Publishing
Date Added: 06/01/2023 23:35:12
pixel_trans.gif Player's Guide to the Contagion Chronicle This is one of the best books a storyteller can have if they are running a crossover game. While very helpful for adjudicating effects on NPCs, it is invaluable if you ever intend to run a mixed party game with vampires, mages, changelings or other supernatural PCs playing together. While written as a companion to the Contagion Chronicle, you absolutely *can* and *should* use this book by itself. Fantastic book, exactly what I have been looking for. Cannot recommend enough.

Chronicles of Darkness: Silver Springs
by Sean H.
Publisher: White Wolf
Date Added: 05/31/2023 23:20:38
pixel_trans.gif Chronicles of Darkness: Silver Springs As has been mentioned in the discussion tab, as well as in the reviews. This book does more than deliver on what was promised in the description. The book is a setting for the fictional city of Silver Springs, a place inhabited by many different types of monsters and their schemes, as well as a truckload of mortal NPCs who interact with the supernatural or are just trying to get by in the city. The books follows the CoD templates and uses CoD stat blocks when describing the NPCs, and even uses the proper color schemes when it switches from on supernatural to the next. This is an absolutely excellent resource if you are looking for a setting book....

Los Angeles, Pithos Opened

pixel_trans.gif Los Angeles, Pithos Opened I bought this book several days ago and have taken a few passes through it before making this review. I enjoy campaign or chronicle settings and will usually purchase ones I can find to mine them for ideas and stories. Here’s the neutral, good and bad in this product. The Neutral: As I mentioned in my post on the discussion tab. This appears to be a write-up of the author’s campaign homebrew chronicle which they are running with real players. With that in mind, it appears to be using a mixture of CoD rules with oWoD flavor. This means that terms such as the Sabbat/Anarchs/Camarilla, the Technocracy, Gaia, Pentex, and so on will be dropped frequently across the book and stat blocks. Some aspects (like Demons) are such a departure from the CoD “lore” that I found it hard to parse what they were supposed to be. If you have no idea what these things are, you might be a bit lost. I’m keeping this neutral because I think that some people will likely have no problem with aspect of th...

Changeling: The Lost
by Liberty S.
Publisher: White Wolf
Date Added: 05/31/2023 16:01:30
pixel_trans.gif Changeling: The Lost As someone who came into WoD games back in the first and second editions, I had always found Changeling the Dreaming to be a fun but dissonent bit of worldbuilding. Changeling the Lost is a really excellent replacement that works so smoothly with the broader universe of WoD as well as in a self-contained game. There are elements of the book/system that can be a little tricky to figure out the first time, but there are great online guides available, and the book is easy to check as a reference once you understand how the pieces fit together. I've played both this and the Victorian book setting, and really enjoy both. If you enjoy the grim nature of the WoD, Changeling is an excellent setting with some really intriguing character options and lore. Recommended!...

Ratkin

Publisher: White Wolf
Date Added: 05/30/2023 09:59:02
pixel_trans.gif Ratkin Out of all the splat books i have read across the World of Darkness, this is my favorite by far. Before, that was Toreador, but this book does so much to flesh out a Breed that could so easily have become one note, fleshing out a society of complex politics, self centered generosity, obligation, and logical madness that it left me stunned. Stuffed to the brim with ***adorable*** passages and art, dark and eerie descriptions, character archetypes that can be taken into such a wide spectrum of play, and a fascinating history, Breedbook Ratkin is a masterpiece. It had some i didnt love, as it is a book found inherently in american stereotypes and pop culture (such as "white trash" and militias and the like) but, like any good setting book, makes these alien concepts approachable and really makes you understand where these madmen are coming from. I dont like how the Plagues got so little lore, as i find that what we did get was interesting, but the aspects got so much that i can look past t...

pixel_trans.gif Tome of the Pentacle An incredible book for all Mage storytellers! The chapters about the Orders past, about the "awakened nations" (and their Mysteries to solve!) around the world are awesome and very, very useful for any storyteller. It's full of plot hooks. In fact, I can imagine an entire chronicle around the world, where PCs are the Order ambassadors and try to find allies against the Seers, learn of the complex history of the Orders, or discover the many magical weird things found in this book.
