quick review for the POD.

It is created from scan copy and functional, some blur in texts and all colour pages were printed in black and white.

Main comcern is a few pages with pencil marking were also scanned. Particularly pages 127, 129, 130, 131, 132 and 134 were with markings.

TLDR: Printed books is ok, could have been better. Content is excellent.

The printed copy is (sadly) one of the better Shadowrun reprints you can get from DTRPG. It's ok - it does have some inconsistent print quality but is better than other original Shadowrun reprints I've seen. As far as the book content - well, it's classic Shadowrun. I'm not a fan of the game mechanisms but the setting and fiction are excellent.

Just so you don't get your hopes up, this is a physical scan of the original product, not a natively digital PDF. Not a particulary great one at that. Quite usable though.

Yes, I purchased the "Black and White" re-print and the PDF bundle from this website. Yes, it is a clean scan with only some light "fuzziness" to each page in the way of text and some drawings.

I received and downloaded the PDF moments after the purchased came through and already had an idea of what COULD appear in the paperback version. Quick-links were already my best friend and I've made characters and locations in a matter of minutes. It's well-organized. Five days later I got my paperback copy and was extremely thrilled because the paperback was in great condition. I knew what I was getting and couldn't be happier!

Bottom line: Extremely happy with the purchase.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I got some classic shadowrunning to do....

Shadowrun brings into focus the darker self-interests of society and manifests them very stylishly in a very distinctive universe. The Mega Corporations are what existing capitalists would like to become, if they thought the state wasn't as much of a power to reckoned with as they'd like it to be. The meta-humanity is a very inventive variation of the current diversity of races on Earth and the fragmentation of mankind very similar to the Wild West.

The book is well written. Everything is nicely introduced and all the players are imaginatively designed. As an RPG, Shadowrun laid the foundation for others. Its background material inspired others to to as well as them, not to mention lead to the creation of video games and novels. This is a purchase you should make if you want to know how to narrate your own stories in science fictional contexts. It was a ground breaker, which brings familiar elements to bear, but reinvents them in very creative and original ways.
