A phenomenal work. This book is filled to the brim with all kinds of tools for a Changeling storyteller to flesh out the villains of a campaign. Information on the Thallain, on the Fomorians, on Dauntain, or on brand new threats to send after your players. Highly recommended.

While I appreciate the fast amounts of effort that writing and releasing anything takes, and the creativity in the concepts in this book, i genuinely believe it needed more time. More time so the intense emotions in its writing could cool, more time for the editors to catch contradictory ideas, and more time to consider whether this book was actually done.

It contains a lot of good ideas that make it worth the purchase, but it also contains unreasonable amounts of anger that the authors clearly had to work through. When you make multiple references to trump as the Tart can in office, and make Rudi Gulliani a Thallain agent with no hint of subtlety, youve lost your way when writing. "Damaged-Dreaming Deniers", mentions of Corona, throw away lines about police involvement with the evils of ICE, The Brotherhood Dauntain, and all that are tossed in and instantly date the book to the point i wouldnt be surprised if this book becomes incomprehensible to readers in just 10 years or so.

Then if you take the odd implementation of Fomorians as more a pantheon of handsome, sidhe like kings and valkyries which save and heal heroes instead of the Eldritch Elder Darkness that predate conscious thought that they truly are, alongside the strange, original sin like Tithed Ones which contradict the idea that Changelings are the intersection and merger of Fae and Human souls... it becomes a tiring read through.

Again, I believe that this book is worth your money and it does have good ideas but all of them must be taken on their own to make any sense. The prophets of the Fomorian faith in the Aslynthii, the wonderfully made up Maeghar kith that reintroduces a strange branch of the Kiasyd tree, the giant, burning eyeball in the skies of the Dreaming that embodies the actual horror of the Fomorians, the (admittedly pc like) story of Enphida the Goblin Queen who ascended to nigh Godhood through the dark ingenuity of her Kith, and much more all mean this book, again, is worth it.

A flawed, angry, perpetually cnn watching, treasure trove that contains a lot of fluff, but definitely worth it.

Fantastic! Really great set of story options for a StoryTeller to take Changeling in some interesting directions that the cannon only hinted at. Love it. Also the Radio Free Arcadia team does a fantastic job and their material is always top quality.

Winter pretty much is an official supplement in all but name with the talent that's working on it and the depth it goes to within it's tight page count. But it loses a few points for me in a few cases. For one, there could have been examples given, write ups, and stats for some of the various threats throughout the books. Specifically in terms of Dauntain, Iron Chimera and the other baddies in here. Instead we're given broad overviews with enough information for the ST to come up with their own, but it still would have been nice to have a few provided.

The second thing which made me subtract points is this. When I buy my Onxy Path/White Wolf products I expect them to have a heavy left leaning bias. I've been buying these books since I was 12 and now I'm 40, I understand this. I expect this. It wouldn't be an Onyx Path book without that bias. But in terms of Winter, it was so heavily slanted in certain aspects as to become very distracting and I found myself rolling my eyes as some of it started to approach levels of the author's personal revenge porn, than allusions to real world issues. A Thallain Lord that kills white people who practice Voodoo, ICE/Homeland Security being led by the Dauntain, and a Boggart that's supposed to be...I think Mitch Mconnel, or maybe they meant Tucker Carlson? I don't know, but the writeup said I know who he is, and that he was close to the bad orange man (whose talked about as if he was still in office despite it being 2022). Also sentences like "America was founded on Hate."

This is where I feel if it were an official supplement some of that would have been toned down, or made a little less obvious than the authors' personal axe to grind.

Still a good product over all.

It is very apparent Harbingers of Winter is written by a team of C20 all-stars. This is the definitive anatagonists book for Changeling the Dreaming in the modern era. All the classic horrors of 90's Changeling are here along with previously only hinted at enemies. Some of which, have such a legit bone to pick with changelings, I'm suprised now is the first time they've been written about. I also greatly appreciate the dedication to the late Jackie Cassada. If this book ever becomes available for POD I'd purchase it again.

This book is excellent, and I am thankful for its excellent content that so creatively expands the setting of Changeling: The Dreaming 20th Edition. My favorite was the Tithed Chapter, although l found the whole book inspiring. I cannot wait for more content from Radio Free Arcadia.

This book by Radio Free Arcadia deals with the portents and beings that herald the Endless Winter and is presented as a toolbox that can be used to expand on the antagonist presented in the 20th annniversary corebook with each chapter dedicated to a particular threat. The first chapter deals with the growing friction between commoners and nobles created by the dwindling Glamour in a post Evanescence Concordia. The chapter details a new background, details on the Urban Renewall League and dark omens that affect the Dreaming.

The second chapter is about the Autumn People and cold iron chimera, their characteristics, organizations and new powers to help them drain Glamour from the World.

In the third chapter we get a look at the Dauntain as antagonists detaling some of their organizations, a new Art, Dooms and the effect they have on the Dreaming.

The next chapter presents the Thallain in greater detail with info on the Black Court, notable members, new systems for Dark Glamour and a new Kith.

The fifth chapter is about the Fomorians, their awakening in current times, their Courts and notable members for each one.

The last chapter expands upon the concept of the Tithed (that first appeared in Time of Judgement) and adds several systems for using them as antagonists.

Finally in the appendix adds two ned Dark Arts and the Maeghar (from DAV20 and the Black Hand a Guide to the Tal’mahe’ra for V20) as a playable kith.

Pros: Offers a tons of information and mechanics for antagonists that can be used in all kinds of Chronicles. The writting is very good, the lore and the rules are very interesting and balanced. Expands on the lore of the Dreaming and explores a concept from Vampire from the Changeling’s point of view.

Cons: The focus of the book affects only the Kithain leaving the other non western kiths out and most of the focus is in the Concordia. The writers have very clear political views that show in the chapter for the Autumn People. With the unfortunate implication that some of the horrors of recent times are caused/enhanced by supernatural influences.

The sections about the Black Court, the Fomorians, and the Tithed were absolutely enthralling! I also loved the new Dooms that were made for the Dauntain. The only thing I did notice that was weird was Sevartal was missspelled Sevaral multiple times, other than that this was a delight to read. That being said it seemed a bit weird that only Eurocentric fae become Dauntain but that's mainly just a personal gripe on my part.
