The origins of the tribes. If you are at all interested in playing through the histoiry of the Garou, this book is a must have. At first blush, it can look intimidatiing especially when you are looking at the different types of Proto Garou. It is very well detialed and the writing and art are phenominal. The books impressed me so much, I had them custom printed. The depth and insight that it lent to my modern WtA games was pehnominal and my players have been very appreciative. This volume went a long way to adding a depth and color to my games that I didnt think was possible. Playing in the setting is an experience all on its own. HIGHLY RECCOMEND!!!!!

I loved this whole series. I wish White Paradonyx Trail or what ever they are called this month. Would have talked to these guys when making 5th edition and reset the story line. So that Albrect met Evan today "2020s" and worked with these guy for the prehistory of the WtA story. Long live The Old Goat

Really enjoyed this book. You can tell the care that was taken to craft this setting. Of course we all know how the Garou are in the modern day and age but here in the time long before the Imperigum we get some very unexpected changes. Different Canid shifters coming together (not everyone was using wolves) uniting with cave bears to form a game changing union.

This line has benefited from the consistant vision of one artist providing many, many pieces of art. The prolific use of exclusive art throughout this book (and this whole line) can not be understated. The quality is always top notch and of a high detail.

New Gifts. New totems. Rules for playing Gurhal cave bears. New, Custom art. Great resource for any table.

More great work! Love the new take on the Garou Nation and the proto-tribes. Plus Cave Bears! What more could you ask for? A great expansion to the Savage Age setting!

I always start a review with the bottom line up front (BLUF). The BLUF is that if you liked Savage Age 1, then you will also enjoy this one. By going into depth regarding the Garou as they were before the War of Rage and coming together as a Nation; the book really sets the tone of the era. Furthermore, it delineates how the different tribes begin to develop their own flavor and identity. I especially liked the addition of the Cave Bear Fera and how they contributed to the formation of the Garou Nation. The author(s) continue to develop the era that the Shattered Dreams book began. The line continues to fill the gap that Shattered Dreams created and I am looking forward to Vol. 3. It's rare for an author to comprehensively create products that build upon and support each one, and Mr. Gunning does a great job accomplishing it.

Let us start off by saying we received promotional copies of both Savage Age Volume One and Volume Two. Now that being said, Werwolf the Savage is an amazing piece of work, which introduces the us to a setting before the War of Rage, a time where Mastodons and Dire Wolves roam the world. A time when Homo Sapiens shared the planet with Neanderaths.

Volume two details the Bilai, the Siberakh, the Nahau, and the Kucha (these tribes are the ancestors of many of the modern tribes), along with the Soksom Aknami (werebears that sided with the Garou). It includes history on how the Garou nation came to be. In addition it includes a section on tools and innovations of the Stone Age.

The Tabletop Gaming Club just concluded our first gaming session using these rules. Our party consisted of one Anupu-Ba-El, one Apis, one Bilai, one Siberakh, and a Gurahl. The story is set in the years preceeding the war of rage and the storyteller plans on playing through events that lead up to the war of rage and the founding of the Garou Nation. So far the group really enjoyed the session and hopes to make this a long running chronicle.

We strongly recommend this setting to every Werewolf player.

The one thing we do want to mention, each book gave us a sampling of the world. We found having both Volume 1 and Volume 2 really expanded our options for our campaign, and we hope to be able to expand our chronicle with the upcoming volumes.
