This document is a lot of fun and well worth the price. Would love to see more recipies in the future. My only gripe (reason for deducting a star) is that the PDF text is not searchable (the text is an image) and the table of contents is not linked up/bookmarked. Should be an easy fix for an update, but I highly recommend it. I'm using Adobe Acrobat to view it.

Edit: The author has made the text searchable! Revised review to 5 stars and bought the sequel!

Hey! I figured out how to make the text searchable and added links in the Table of Contents. I updated it the other week but just realized I forgot to respond to your review letting you know. Also, thank you for the kind words :)

One of the players I GM for really enjoys describing their characters culinary talents, so I got them this as a little gift, and they loved it. It's clear that a lot of time and effort went into every recipe, and I especially appreciate the detail on using crafting tools.

With a background, an expansion on how Chef's Tools work, and a handful of real world recipes (although some substitutions might need to be made, for example Bulette is hard to find at your local grocery store), it's a cool supplement. Not sure how useful it'll be at the table, but it was an amusing read.

Impressive homebrew, with great mechanical improvements to cooking in 5e. Highly anticipating a sequel or expanded edition!

This product is the result of both a love for cooking and for DnD. It offers a refreshingly unique new angle on the most well-known roleplaying game of our time. Each recipe offers an imaginative and often humurous culinary endeavor containing ingredients from our favorite fantastic creatures. A welcome addition to the game, since the player's handbook doesn't offer much in the way of cooking. I have not implemented this supplement in any of my games, but I can tell it would be a fun, interesting way to add a new layer to the game. I would love to test out some of these recipes myself, if only I could get a hold of some basilisk meat!

This book is great! You can tell someone who knows how to cook wrote it. It gives you fun, tasty (I guess? Beholder eyes, mmmm) ways to cook up the monsters we slay. The recipes give goood situationally helpful buffs without being overpowered. There's a fighter in my campaign who's really into cooking, wish he could have adopted the chef background before we started!
