V5 Vampire Players Guide: This is a very good looking product. I'll start by saying that. It is well edited and there's an eye for the graphic design of V5. So, what's in it?

The Predator Types: These are easy to work with, with some of them being quite specialized in how they work, almost being specializations of the already made predator types. I like most of these, especially "Manic Pixie Predator" and "Eat the Rich", but again, they feel like more narrow versions of what we already have available. Furthermore, a lot of them are dependant on the merits in the next section, which... well, I'll get to that.

Merits and Flaws: This is probably where things are starting to take a turn for the worse. To put it bluntly, V5 is not a game where flaws are supposed to be stacked, like in V20. A lot of them are supposed to make a foundation for a character, not a quirk, but this is not the case here. As one might have noticed, lot of these flaws are harsh, but they give you far too many points to take them. Stake Bait in V5 is probably one of the harshest canon flaws, and that is ONLY a Two Dot Merit. Many of these are converted from older editions, and while I like a lot of the concepts, the execution falls a bit flat.
There are quite a few of them that I like, "After Meal Glow" is pretty cool, as is "Lore Master". But, most these Merits are either refined to be very specific, or just made to fill niches that are often not focused on as a part of the vampire experience or is already in there, but a part of another rules, like, Convictions and the "Code of Honor" merit. Some should probably have been placed in a Loresheet, but I am never going to be convinced that True Faith to Vampires is a good idea. The "Alchemy Expert" merit especially is a weird one, since ThinBlood Alchemy is dependent on the weak Vitae of a Duskborn to work it's magic not just some magical knowhow. A lot of the Merits and Flaws could do with a either simplified rules, or just be relegated to a "Proposed Rules Section". On the plus side, this section is written well and I was never in doubt of what I was reading.

Diciplines: A lot of the powers here felt really circumstancial in my book, to the degree where I was in doubt why anyone would pick them. If there were rituals for other powers than Blood Sorcery and Oblivion, I'd have maybe made them something like that instead. That is not to say that this is a bad chapter, far from it. There are pieces of gold here, very fitting to V5. My favorites are the Howl of Rage (An Animalism-based Spark of Rage), Hunt the Beast (it gives you the ability to sniff out your prey and other vampires with Animalism), Shadow Puppet (Oblivion that can take control off other people's shadows) and the Rituals, which a lot of the Blood Sorcery Powers could have been as well. As for things I did not like Lie Detector (the most broken Auspex rank 1 pwr ever) is something I'd want to see yeeted into the sun, and Energy Vampire tries to circumvent on of the most essential parts of being a vampire, drinking blood. Some of the Celerity powers are really wordy, and Combat Tempest especially makes it hard NOT to have that.

OVERALL: A well-edited and laid-out product, that unfortunately does not entirely lives up to it's V5 design aspirations. If some of the other problems can be dealt with, I want to see this team do more, but this is very clearly the first, shaky step. I can reccomend this for the gamer who wants to look for inspiration with a discerning eye, and can adapt the things in here at their own table, but not to a group that might be first time users, and looking for more to add to their table. Also. I might reccomend a namechange with the next update, as one of the 2022 Lineup Books from the publisher is called "Vampire the Masquerade: Player's Guide"
