Cyberpunk RED

I never played any earlier versions of Cyberpunk, but have been playing RPGs for 25 years. I am running a red game after watching some 2020 reviews and just know tuning red would be easier to get the books in physical form. The rules are simple to pick up and run. It is a pain to convince some players they have to find jobs. My group is used to working for guilds, so jobs are just listed. For the book itself it is okay. I love the art and it is easy to understand a rule when you can find it. The layout is a pain. You have to jump all over the book to make a character. The flow chart helps, but you have to dig to find information out about the chrome you just got.

want some alien civilizations, or some spell casting. that is what is covered in this book. Nice book, but some of the spells are overpowered. Some spells are on the list, but does not have a discription about what to do. There is no rules for making a higher level magic user it only covers starting out, so the GM has to decide how many spells you get. It is an older book and there is only a .01% chance this RPG will get a remake, but the spells need a major overhall.

Did you just return from uou last job missing an arm and having a jole in your midsection. Well good news Cyber has you covered. This new company with the medical knowlage of run away doctor theives will patch you up, so Tau can shoot you at another rock eith machine enhancements. This book expands on the cyberwear in the base book. It adds a new mechanic sucking away uou Wis/prz status, but lets be honest if you are playing a basic Justifier game prz was your dump stat anyway. Unless you are playing the Bata Kirk prz is not used for much in this game.

Justifiers RPG: Hybrid Soucebook

This book is not a must have, but that being said I am still looking for a hard copy. This book gives you the rules for making hybrid species. If you want a Fox/gorilla this book tells you how to make it including the mad science experiment you might become. I am knocking it a star because some of the tables are a pain in the butt to read. I don't know if it is my ablity to see, or a bad rushed scan job.

This is a must have for the Justifiers RPG. It gives you a bit more information on the companies. Mostly it adds military and law enforcment jobs. This lets you play a different game than just being shot at a rock. We are right now playing as spies for Enclave in the current game we are playing.

Golden Sky Stories

I loved this book. Magic does not seem to be used as much and it took a bit convincing my girlfriend that all players start out know each other even if it is just in passing.

The game is great for smaller stories. Nothing grand our last quest was helping a villager start a bakery.

The diceless system takes a bit to get used to but aids in role playing. Not a game for hack and slash players, but a fantastic palette cleanser. I loved it enough I picked up hard copies of some of the books even if I don't think it will hit the table much.

Furry Pirates [digital]
Publisher: Atlas Games
by Jeremy M. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 06/30/2022 00:04:33

Note this is a pirate game with a furry gloss. The book reads like the furry part was a second thought. Most of the book seems to be timelines and a bit of history. Character generation is very simple after reading the rules two or three times. It is very simple to overpower a character. Most is realistic to the time and magic seems to be an afterthought. I just made it very rare so things like the witch trials (are mentioned in the book) make sense because if it is common than why make it illegal.

The system is easy to break and it is interesting telling a player you healed but still might die (I said somewhat realistic). It was fun to play, but easy to make players feel smaller in larger ship battles.

This was a shocking success with my group and well negative experience at the same time. I pulled this out to be different. My group had fun and it became one of our main games. The system is okay, but sometimes you forget humans can be lower cast as well. The problem came when we did more than this game seems to be designed for. It is great for one shots and maybe a bit more. We played it for 2 months straight. My girlfriend got pissed because she was playing a character not mea to really work she was introduced with my sister DMing as a slave sold to the company by the rebels. I said it made no sense but she was happy. I had the problem she just had her character hide in their room and then she got pissed no one interacted with him. It blew up into a fight between my sister and girlfriend leading to us not playing for a month.

This is a great one shot and fine for what it was made for. Just remember in this world no one cares about your character and it is up to the players and GM to make it into more. It was good enough I hunted down a few hard copies of this book and supplements. Note DriveThruRPG does not have all the books from this RPG, but it has most of them.

ASTOUNDING SCIENCE - Retro-Futuristic Options for Urban Jungle
Publisher: Sanguine Productions

Take of this book what you will. I picked this up as a pdf. The base book and first expasion I got a physical coply and pdf. This one not so much of a need for the hard cover. The first expansion gave you powers and interesting jobs. This one saying more playable species did not lie, but they are all alien. Only new thing in this book I liked was the mixed species. Is your dad a alien and mom and Earthling now you know how to cross breed if that is something you wanted. I would rather play Albedo for space furry fun. This is okay, but not what I hoped for urban jungle. I wanted other time periods to play in with more modern jobs and other animal species. I am not going to say don't buy it but for me it was the weak link of the three books. Okay for generic science fiction fun, but was a miss for me.

ALBEDO - First Edition

okay not going to beat around the bush with this review. This was made in the late 80's based on a comic by the same name. It was a popular comic for furry fans and when this came out it was around AD&D release date. this style of rpg was still building. I can't say infancy, but deffently terrible twos. They were moving from war games to theater of the mind. That means like earlier AD&D it is chart heavy. look at everything with charts. This is were the math nerd stereo type if the fandom comes from. want to do something look at the chart and subtract the opposite value and learn what part of the chart to use. Want to do damage subtract bullet penetration and his armor. then roll on the correct chart. If you grew up with this style game then great you know what to do and this will be a good blast from the past. If your new to rpg and want to read how older ones were like it is a fun few dollar read. If you just like the world of the comic the makers of Ironclaw another furry RPG might be better for you to jump in. That is not saying this is unplayable it is just a bit of a time sink to find all the charts and run all the numbers.

The art is mostly from the comic and is good for and 80's printing. Nothing to write home about but usable. Only thing I didn't like and this will not be a problem with 99.99999% of you is I am visually impaired and I also have an ld in reading. I love getting pdfs of rpgs so I can have my phone read it and I read along with it. Only problem is this rpg is only recognized as an image, so the reader didn't work. Most people will not find this a problem, but it was a pain for me.

I really enjoyed reading this version of the game. I have not gotten this version to the table, but have played other versions. I picked up this copy because it was a revised copy of the one I learned on. Same basic rules the art is nice and it is very easy to follow. I would recommend this one, but I think it is only pdf, so you might want to go the W20 20th anniversary if you want a print copy. that is what I did because my sister likes print better.

URBAN JUNGLE - Anthropomorphic Noir Role-Play
Publisher: Sanguine Productions
by Jeremy M. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 09/03/2021 22:53:55

This review will be short. The game takes place around the 1930's with a renaming of cities. The walkthrough the rules are fine. If you have played Ironclaw the rules are similar, but a bit more streamlined. If you are a furry this is a nice game. It is not overly sexual, but one of the careers is hooker.

I picked up the book and pdf. The pdf is clear and I have no issues. That being said I don't use quicklinks to search the pdf. The book is well made and the ink is easy to read.

I have just started with my regular RPG group playing this. My sister is the host. This is only the second system she has run. She wanted to give this forever DM a chance to play seeing how I am a furry. We only have one game under our belt and my character only got to use 2 dice roles because my sister got confused. I still think it is a good starting RPG for new DMs the rules are not over complicated. It did however take forever to set up two of the players characters. Both being new to RPGing. This groip started with Vampire 5ed then this.

I would recommend picking up the horror book to mix it up. The science book adds alien races not more basic races and I was not as impressed with it as the horror book.

To be honest this is my second purchase of this book. I picked up this and the investigators handbook for Fantasy Grounds Unity. Me and my groyp were having so much fun playing it I wanted to get a copy of the digital version. Great the scan was clean and it looks nice. I have since picked up the hard copy of the books, but I still keep this in my dropbox, so if we want to play we can.
