This is my first review for any product on STV, but I figured this product needed one. I've purchhased several pdfs of Kelly Black and they've all been great. San Francisco by Night is a full setting book for V5, something the system is lacking right now, in my opinion. I've never read the official San Francisco book that came out with Kindred of the East in 2002, but I do know this product features some characters from WoD San Francisco. It also moves the timeline forward to present day and brings it in line with other V5 products. The book follows standard outline for setting books and covers wthe history of the area in the WoD setting and describes life for bothh Kindred and Kine. In this updated history, the eastern Kindred are gone (mostly) and the Camarilla is back in town. It then outlines a variety of coteries and gives details and statblocks for members of each as well as coterie stats. Finally, it caps off with the mentioned new player options as well as Loresheets to tie players into thhe setting, connecting them withh different people and places. The overall layout and design is what I would expect of an official release and the content itself is on par withh official publications. It has everything you need to base a game in San Francisco.

My third purchase from Kelly Black. Really well thought out & fully realized setting for V5 that has top notch artwork (as much of Black's art which is very evocative of V5's art aesthetic). Rather than giving you dozens of pages on SPCs that you may never use this book gives you Coteries that are more easily inserted into a chronicle. SPCs for these are given 1 page which is easier to use for a storyteller. A big plus is a new concept (well, not new but new for a V5 setting book) are Set Pieces, which takes iconic places in SF that can be easily inserted into a game and that lend flavor. Really well written without being over-detailed, leaving the storyteller to tailor and use as needed.
