The Rise of the Garou: The Savage Age Volume Two
Publisher: White Wolf
by DSC T. G. C. _. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 10/15/2020 15:35:28

Let us start off by saying we received promotional copies of both Savage Age Volume One and Volume Two. Now that being said, Werwolf the Savage is an amazing piece of work, which introduces the us to a setting before the War of Rage, a time where Mastodons and Dire Wolves roam the world. A time when Homo Sapiens shared the planet with Neanderaths.

Volume two details the Bilai, the Siberakh, the Nahau, and the Kucha (these tribes are the ancestors of many of the modern tribes), along with the Soksom Aknami (werebears that sided with the Garou). It includes history on how the Garou nation came to be. In addition it includes a section on tools and innovations of the Stone Age.

The Tabletop Gaming Club just concluded our first gaming session using these rules. Our party consisted of one Anupu-Ba-El, one Apis, one Bilai, one Siberakh, and a Gurahl. The story is set in the years preceeding the war of rage and the storyteller plans on playing through events that lead up to the war of rage and the founding of the Garou Nation. So far the group really enjoyed the session and hopes to make this a long running chronicle.

We strongly recommend this setting to every Werewolf player.

The one thing we do want to mention, each book gave us a sampling of the world. We found having both Volume 1 and Volume 2 really expanded our options for our campaign, and we hope to be able to expand our chronicle with the upcoming volumes.

Desecrated Rites
Publisher: White Wolf
by DSC T. G. C. _. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 10/15/2020 14:22:47

Desecrated Rites brings tons of new material for Blood Sorcery in Vampire the Requiem. The book provides options for using blood sorcery including new merits and devotions. There is a ton of new rituals for Cruac and Theban Sorcery along with new forms of Blood Sorcery including Infernal, Fae and Techomancy.

The Tabletop Gaming club used a sampling of these new rituals and soceries in our Requiem game. We found most of the material balanced and enjoyable to use. Though a few like Infernal Sorcery, might be better if limited to NPCs. We recommend this product.

Charlotte by Night

Date Added: 10/15/2020 11:35:21

Although Charlotte by Night is a relatively small product, it does provide us with everything one needs to run a chronicle set in Charlotte. The book opens up by detailing the major kindred of the the city. It then gives a brief background on what lead to the political state of the city, and follows up with some storytelling ideas.

The Tabletop Gaming Club recommends this product for those wanting to run a game in Charlotte. What is provided is well written (though the layout could be a little better), and gives just enough to help spark a campaign.

Paradigm Explored: Wyrd and Weft

Date Added: 10/15/2020 09:47:29

Paradigm Explored Wyrd and Weft is an interesting book that explores Norse magic but does it in a way that teachs one how to design a Paradigm of their own.

The writers focuse on a single mage, and created a comprehensive template for the characters. In the process of doing this, they demostrate the kinds of questions players should ask themselves when designing their own characters.

The Tabletop Gaming Club recommends this product. We really did like how this product was put together.

Mage Made Easy: Advice from That Damn Mage Guy
Publisher: White Wolf
by DSC T. G. C. _. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 10/15/2020 09:39:48

Phil Brucato brings us his advice on how to streamline Mage to make it easier for new & veteran players. This book has been reviewed by quiet a few people before us, so we won't go into a lot of details as they have already covered it. What we do want to say, is this book does a great job of stripping a way some of the more cumersomes ascepts of mage, and providing optional rules for dealing with things like paradox. Although we would have liked a little more break down on the spheres, the book is definetely a must have for all Mage players.

The Tabletop Gaming Club strongly recommends this book.

The Tabletop Gaming club really enjoyed some of the new kiths especially the Jinn. We recommend this product to players of Changeling the Lost and hope that the authors might concide adapting some of these concepts to Changeling the Dreaming.

Vampire: The Wild West
Publisher: White Wolf
by DSC T. G. C. _. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 10/06/2020 11:00:18

Vampires have finally came to the Wild West. This book is a well done entry, presenting the Wild West from the Vampire player's point of view. This book in our opinion filled in a huge gap that was missing in the Vampire settings. That being said the book is not perfect. It works best alongside Werewolf the Wyld West... as Vampire the Wild West doesn't give as much detail as much of the west as one might like.

The Tabletop Gaming Club actually loved playing with product. The club members loved the entire concept. We found the adjusted abilities new archetypes, new disciplines and other mechanics worked perfectly for running a game in the wild west. We STRONGLY recommend this product,

Past is Prologue
Publisher: White Wolf
by DSC T. G. C. _. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 10/06/2020 10:35:27

Past is Prologus is a very well done and professional looking product. A product for Dark Ages Fae, it introduces us to the Dark or the neverborn. A Fae sect opposed to firstborn and their creations. This product details the three courts of the dark along with the power of Nightmare.

The Tabletop Gaming Club found this book interesting. We must admit that we haven't used this product in any of our games to date. We did take quite a few great ideas from this book which we did incorporate into our cross-genre World of Darkness campaign. If you are a player of Dark Ages Fae this book is a must have, but even if you aren't its a worthwhile investment for any storyteller of the world of darkness.
