Vol. 1 — New Pavis: City on the Edge of Forever (RuneQuest)
Publisher: Chaosium
by Santiago [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 03/29/2024 09:11:48

I love to see the old Pavis Campaign again, It's one of my group favourites! And fully Runequest! I would like to ask about a thing that have confused me. In page 124, in the cult of Yelmalio, it speaks of the spells Brighten Morale, Spear of Accuracy, Shield of Brilliance, & Smite Darkness to be added, but I haven't found them anywhere. It's a errata?

V20 Beckett's Jyhad Diary
Publisher: Onyx Path Publishing
by Santiago G. B. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 06/05/2020 10:04:02

This is Onyx path and White Wolf at his best. Giving you a lot of possibilities and answers to a lot of things, even those you haven't asked. It's the perfect book to any edition of vampire, as it covers a lot of ground, and consequences to a HUGE load of old material like Transilvanian and Giovanni Chronicles, several by night, and other books. If you want to play with the old rules in the new setting of V5, want to know exactly how the world of V5 come to being from V20, or just a piece of fiction in line with the book of nod, this book is simply incredible.

Angel the Revelation
Publisher: White Wolf
by Santiago G. B. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 11/27/2019 11:03:31

Angel: The Revelation has little background even with it's size, but what's there is so great and inspiring for your games that it's well worth what the creator is asking. The theme of the Angels fits perfectly in Demon the Fallen or even any other World of Darkness to give a surprise twist to your expert players (I loved the faces of my players when they discovered one of the biblical artifacts in the game). The powers are well fleshed out, although I can't find how to design the angelic form (I suppose you use the general demon: the fallen rules). But taking all of that into account, The book is very well written and worth your money. Edit: The item that a Werewolf pack found was the Crown of Lucifer. Obviously, this pissed off the theurge a lot. Having a half angel sheperd groupie following her and calling her "saint of the New God" didn't improved her mood much.

Tribebook: Naghaluu
Publisher: White Wolf

Although at first I thought of giving it four stars, for me any RPG product that keeps me interested to read it completely in the same day deserves 5 stars. It gives you a few interesting ideas to play with if you have one of the best books ever produced for werewolf, Shatered Dreams, and expands the theme there that the War of Rage was fought making horrible mistakes by both sides. Mechanically I don't think they are well balanced, I think that they should not be more powerful than a Garou. I understand the reasoning behind the four point in stamina-crinos form, but the book of Changing Breeds make the Khan less phisically powerful than Garou, and Tigers are really big!. I also didn't liked their rage, combining the rage of both Gurhal and Garou makes them really powerful (maybe they should have only Ghural-rage until rank three were they "unlock" full auspices?). But the background for them was beautiful and well-made, and it gave me a few story-ideas for my loooong shattered dreams chronicles. I also think that you should add the knives of the council to the book, making them weapon-fetishes that you could inherit with the intrinsic responsabilities. Please forgive spelling mistakes in the review as english is not my native tongue. Keep up the good work!

Santiago, Thank you so much for the review and the kind words. We worked hard to make the Naghaluu interesting and fun -- both mechanically and in terms of background. I think your criticisms are reasonable. As background -- we debated about the stamina buff in crinos, but figured the Naghaluu should be at the extreme end of the stamina ladder. Stamina serves them well in their fight against the Wyld because of its mercurial nature. Also, because their Gifts are so heavily restricted, we felt the bump in the stamina stat was a little less onerous. So, we decided to go big, but are happy to consider changing it (thats the wonder of these e-books - we can still make changes based on useful feedback like yours). Your feedback is super useful. We plan to expand on the Lodge of the Nine Knives either as an expansion within this book or as its own stand-along product (with the Fera-knives statted out, of course). Stay tuned! (and your English is just fine)

Ultimate Relationships #3: The Cassisian Detective
Publisher: Legendary Games
by Santiago G. B. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 11/26/2015 11:54:25

Although the character is very interesting and has a lot of potential as a npc, I must rate it only 3 out of 5 stars because of the great amount of errata that his stats contains. I'm very tolerant with the kind of mistake that changes a skill point or hit point here or there, but the npc has powers added from his class that he losses because of his archetype (Detective Bards don't get Bardic Performance), has skills calculated strangely or languages not added from linguistics, or high non class skills. Also, some of the powers of the archetype are not added. I think that the Ultimate Relationships series are somewhat expensive for what you get, but obviously things like this don't help at all.

Marvel Heroic Roleplaying: Basic Game
Publisher: Margaret Weis Productions
by Santiago G. B. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 02/25/2012 04:38:58

What I really didn't like about this book is the fact that is not reader-friendly. When I put the pdf in my Ipad, some inserted drawings are displaced in the middle of the text, forcing me to use my computer to read it. I think that the editorials should put more work in creating a pdf that is 100% compatiblr with tablets. That alone is enough to low the note of the product. THe game is ok...barely. It's not intuitive how to create a character, so if you don't like to play with established characters, or you're fan of traditional rpg games, I must discourage you about this book.
