Could not have enjoyed this book more; the greyscale illustration added a lot of theme to the story sections, and holy cow, the different chronicle ideas situated throughout various time periods really blew my socks off. Of the lot, the Revolutionary Russian Demon material, the Promethean Year without a Summer stuff, and the Four Horsemen chronicle ideas were, by far, my favorites of the bunch, whereas I'd say the Reconstruction period fell flat to me (primarily because of the connection to Beast, which I feel is some of Onyx Path's weakest material, not the overall content of the period coverage in said chapter). Overall, I am very pleased to have gotten the standard hardcover; I don't feel that the premium copy would've added anything significant in terms of the overall quality, which was excellent, as the colors were already rich.

While the Eras included didn't tickle my fancy as much as those in the first book, this is still a fantastic resource for people wanting to run or play in a game focused around a historical setting. If you want to play something like a Werewolf the Forsaken game set in Ancient Rome, this is the book for you!

Got this from my backing of the original Dark Eras. Plenty of additional ideas for the various splats that I'm incorporating into my current game. I especially liked "The Master's Tool (1917)" as I am running an introductory session for newcomers and the World War 1 gave me plenty of ideas to utilize. I'm looking forward to the Dark Eras 2 when it is released.
