A solid redo of the old MET. More streamlined, which is supposedly what is wanted in LARP, and even has interesting bits with some of the mechanics that don't require so much RPS. The treatment of Influence alone is an amazing addition to the MET framework, and it was one of the most amazing things in the old MET books to begin with.

The only issue, and it's a literally big one, is the size of the print book. Now given this day and age of digital books and what not, this isn't so bad if you just keep it on a tablet or your phone. Still, for those of us who like an actual book-book it's horribly unwieldy to try and lug this tome around. Still, ultimately cheaper than all the other MET books you had to shell out for back in the day.

It's not a replacement for the full book and it isn't supposed to be. It does well to give new players anought info to create a new character and the most basics on the combat system. It's also useful for ST and it puts the combat close at hand.

A poor insight into the clans is provided in this otherwise well done intro kit to Mind's Eye Theatre for Vampire the Masquerade.

While the write up for the Ventrue and the Brujah leaves little out those are the only two clans which are presented in this book, as such it provides a mediocre insight into the Jihad and the camarilla.

Otherwise this free resource is a solid introduction to the MET for VtM.

The developers could have made more space by cutting out the equipment section and trimming down the disciplines so as to only include the first few levels, also the merits and flaws could have been cut to make space to represent the other five camarilla clans if not all thirteen.

As someone who already has the book, and is viewing the Quickstart as a way to get people introduced to it, it does the job well. This quickstart gives the overall rules for the game, including challenges, time, and related mechanics; character creation and two Clans, the Ventrue and Brujah; all the base Merits and Clan-specific Merits; appropriate Disciplines for those Clans; skills and trait descriptions; example equipment; and essentially everything you'd need to run a test game. Some things that are largely complex or wordy for the Quickstart (like Backgrounds and Status) is excised. The Quickstart advises you to build characters at the Ancilla generation and that's the only background talked about. Quite workable for test games to try out the rules.

Also as a bonus, if you already have a copy of the book, the Quickstart would make a great 'lite' copy for only the rules to have on hand for extras at a game.
