The information and artwork are awesome. I went to open it for the first time, and the pages came away from the spine. This is the 3rd time this has happened to me. It is honestly starting to get annoying. I work hard to earn my money. I do not have much to spend. I am happy to buy the W20 products as the game is amazing. Yet for every book I have purchased this is a problem....If we are spending our money, can we at least get a printer that can acutally make a quality product.

Okay, before you read anything else from me, know that I am not a HUGE fan of Werewolf: the Apocalypse, but I do like it plenty. That said, I feel that this book is, without a doubt, my favorite of the 'splat' offerings from the entire line!

Is it because of the comprehensive nature of the book? Well, not really... As some reviewers have pointed out, there are many holes in here, but I don't believe that it's anything that ruins the book as a whole. What you find here fills in much more than could ever have been shoehorned into the W20 core. So what if the werebats and the weretortises don't have every little Trait to make them the centre of a chronicle? They're lost lines, and the game's not named after them, after all.

So, am I enamoured by the art? Sorta, sure... It's a lovely book, don't get me wrong. Yeah, the Apis are gnarly, there's any number of 'WTF?' sorts of images, and every single Bastet line doesn't get its own gorgeous image, but overall, the presentation remains a strong point.

In the end, I'm pleased most with two things. First, I'm blown away by the ambitions of the book; that is, we're given a peak into a part of the game that has been spread all over many different places up until now. That helps me put it all into some kind of context, and the team who made this book really did their homework, which leads to the second thing I like. The book is a testament to the passion around this game. You don't have to agree with me, but know that for all of its imperfections (and there are plenty), the W20 Changing Breeds delivers where it counts!

Good book, a lot easier to use than the host of pdf's I've been stuck with since the original books are so rare.

It does help to have the original pdf's to hand though to flesh out the information a bit.

I, sadly, was duped into being part of this kickstarter, with great hopes that it would be a well needed addition to the lore. I was gravely mistaken.

For those of you who enjoy the changing breeds, realize the following facts:

The art is good, but obviously not done by someone who has read the material or played the game, for a while, it was so horribly inaccurate that they depicted the Apis as Buffalo. It took a bad photoshop job to correct it, making them look just plain ugly.

80% of the backstory provided is so truncated that it is on the verge of uselessness. All of the necessary information (renown, laws, outlook, etc.) are either removed, glossed over, or forgotten.

90% of the powers that made the changing breeds unique from each other has been simply replaced with generic werewolf powers. (this is the greatest insult of them all. Shame on the developers).

While the lost breeds do have a lot more detail provided (including the Ao, which was quite a surprise), the Apis, Camazotz, and Grondr all lack the single most important part of their rules... The litany of their people and their renown system. This means, of course, that they are completely and utterly unplayable.

Some information is useful and downright good, like the information on the Ao, Okumo and Camazotz, along with the clear message: The lost breeds are probably not as lost as they once seemed to be. However, 70% of the book is painful to look at, and does nothing but diminish how important the other changers truly are in the world of darkness.

Onyx path should be ashamed of themselves.

Great work. Enjoying every bit. Orginization seems off, I'm betting because it was a bit rushed.
