Where monsters dwell...

Even monsters need a place to call home. The Night Folk walk among the mortal masses, living secret lives, scheming amongst themselves and delving into their nightly machinations. When dawn comes, the monsters need a place to which they can retreat, a place all their own. Caine’s childer hide from the cruel light of day. Willworkers need safe spaces to work their magical arts. The Restless linger in the places they were tied to in life. Gaia’s chosen viciously protect their territory. The fae conceal themselves from the cold winds of Banality.

We turn our attention to the lairs of the Night Folk. Herein, you will find how to build your perfect sanctuary, from a vampire’s Haven or a wraith’s Haunt, to a mage’s Sanctum. You will also find new rules for crafting lairs for werewolves and changelings, or even a hunter’s weapon-stocked hideout. Consider this a universal primer for creating any sort of dwelling in the World of Darkness, usable with any edition up to 20th Anniversary.

World of Darkness: Sanctuaries contains:

• A new Background system that standardises the rules for lairs represented in different game lines (Havens, Sanctums and Haunts).
• Rules for creating any sort of sanctuary, including Dens for werewolves and Hollows for changelings. Additionally, create a sanctuary for mortals, either as player characters or NPCs. Use numerous Traits, Features, Perks and Drawbacks to craft the perfect lair.
• Over 20 sample sanctuaries so you can get started quickly. Use these sanctuaries as they are or as a starting point for creating your own.
• Advice for using sanctuaries in your Chronicle, what challenges you might face, and what it means to own your own turf.
• Rules for Sanctuary Wonders, powerful and costly mystical objects built into your lair that cannot be removed.
