Change is coming.

Maybe it comes for the low, low price
of your high ideals, a gruel-thin compromise
for a scrap of progress.

Maybe it comes from a smoke-filled room,
a sweetheart deal with the tyrant
who locked away your comrades and lost the key.

Or maybe it comes at the end of a stake
lined up with your lover’s heart,
the tears flowing like an open vein.

But it’s coming all the same,
and you’d better make peace
with the monster you become to bring it.

We’ll show you how.

— Walt Barowski, Carthian Prefect

The Carthians remade the Danse Macabre. Since the Reign of Terror, they’ve shone the light of progress on their Kindred no matter who it burns, but they’re still only getting started. Now, for the first time in almost twenty years, the Revolution rises again to offer liberty, equality, and fraternity to the dead. Or else.

This book includes:

  • A complete guide to the Carthians, reformists of the All Night Society.
  • Concordats, factions, and ghoul families, ready to light up the world on the Revolution’s behalf.
  • New Archetypes, Devotions, and Merits; optional mechanics for debates, elections, and improvised Carthian Law; and errata for systems in Secrets of the Covenants.
  • Radical schisms and reactionary horrors, including the return of the Commonwealth, the Movement’s sinister globe-spanning shadow.

I cannot wait for the Invictus and the Lancea Sanctum. First and Second Estate for the win! You all do such amazing work in keeping Requiem alive (I much prefer it over Masquerade) so I'm looking forward to what you do with these two covenants.

A Belial's Brood book is planned, but we haven't decided regarding VII... never say never, though.

I'm certainly hoping for one. It's my favorite covenant(s?) as weird as it is with how many iterations it has.

Will there be a book about unaligned vampires or the lesser covenants?

We've definitely considered doing a book about minor covenants, though that would likely be after finishing the big five!

I can't believe how far the artwork has come since the first book! I love the ideas for these subfactions and enemies. I can't wait for the Circle of the Crone!

Thank you so much! We put a lot of effort into the look of these books, so it's lovely to hear that people pick up on that. Please consider leaving a review, but we really appreciate the comment!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
