Sabbat: The Schism Preview

To be released in May-June 2024.

Author's Note: As this is a preview, it is not indicative of the final quality of the product. There are few pages chosen for their lack of spoilers, but many of those pages have yet to be properly proofread and edited to the quality of the final product.

While the teasers for the book are close to final quality, they still might possess some mistakes, that will be removed before the final release.

February Teaser - Delirium Discipline, Levels 1 to 3

The Occultation of Sabbat happened. If only Camarilla Kindred knew how true that statement is. For 3 years the True Sabbat stayed hidden from their enemies. Their elders were dead and devoured, the shovelheads drunk on their measly success terrorizing the Anarchs and Camarilla while attracting the attention of the SI.

But a cold wind rose, and rumors say it comes from the North of the Old World. Some speak of rumors that there are Two Sabbats and that each wishes to destroy the other. Other Cainites suspect foul play.

It is the year 2024, the time of Beltane. Just the time when Sabbat incursions onto Camarilla territories begin happening more often. Just the time when the "remaining" elders of Sabbat seem to show up in the lands of Camarilla and Anarchs. But the Nosferatu whisper of a Schism that happened in the Sect a few years ago.

There is a mystery that the Clan of Hidden wishes to solve.

As, for us, my darling Cainite, it is time to return to the ancient stronghold of the Sabbat, which provided sanctuary to us after the first Sabbat-Camarilla wars.

In the cold northern crispy air, where under ancient trees Gunnhilde taught us our first Ignoblis Ritae, we resurrected once more. Vivat, True Sabbat! Vivat, Regent Lucita! Our enemies are all over the globe, but that is not something that we are unused to.

This book is meant to appeal both to new and old faces in the #vamily.

For the elders, the book contains the latest Sabbat history from 2000 until 2023 and it connects 5th Edition lore with 3rd and 20th edition lore.

For the neonates of the #vamily, the book contains a quick introduction to the days of old, the history of Sabbat, and other interesting members of Cainite society.

The book is meant to be friendly for both experts in WOD lore as well as newcomers.

The lore is gathered as stories, dialogues and recordings, and meta-narrated articles from inside the World of Darkness throughout the ages.

  • New Sabbat Domains, Tactics, Warfare, Ritae, etc
  • Running Sabbat domains and coteries
  • Sabbat clans and bloodlines (some old, some new) as told from the Sabbat perspective
  • New Powers for existing Disciplines, as well as the two brand-new Disciplines.
Delirium - a revamped and improved Dementation practiced by Sabbat Malkavians.
Metamorphose - a revamped and rebranded Vicissitude, practiced by followers of Path of Metamorphosis
  • Expansion of Blood Sorcery and Rituals (including Technosorcery and Koldunic Sorcery)
  • Roads of Enlightenment that can be used instead of Road of Humanity
  • Elder Level powers and mechanics
  • Quick-start guide, antagonists, allies, tools, weapons, and a list of known kindred (both allies and enemies)
  • New Loresheets, Merits, Backgrounds, Flaws

This book is compatible with V5 Sabbat official sourcebook and the STV Player's Guide to the Sabbat. The expected page count is circa 700-800 pages.

For the release, or close to it, a Roll20 custom character sheet will be provided.

All of this and more you will find in the sourcebook, Sabbat: The Schism

This is so exciting! Really looking forward to it's release. Was curious to know how the art will be sourced? Will you be using the free packs found here on storyteller vault? Any hired artists? Mostly, I would like to know if any ai art will be used. I am trying to avoid supporting anything with ai art.

Firstly, You should know that Storyteller Vault doesn't allow AI art in the projects.
1. Miguel and I are both artists + we got a quite a few local Estonian artists/photographers who chose to contribute for free
2. Free packs from storyteller vault
3. Custom photo edits using free stock images

Thanks for your interest!

Answering your question, there will be a few quick-start scenarios that the STs will be able to use, in the Quick Start chapter.

Besides the Quick Start scenarios, the book has many ideas about what plot hooks to use in Sabbat campaigns, how to make the game personal for the players, where the campaigns might take a turn, and how the ST could address those new developments. There will be an addendum for the STs, with loads of different ideas.

As for Full Scenarios (one-shots or longer campaigns), a separate sourcebook with different one-shots, and longer campaigns is planned for the future. Miguel has great experience in making long campaigns with lots of personalization for players, having studied to be a game designer, thus he will design a few for interested people.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
