The Pendragon’s Mantle lies incomplete, an unfinished story waiting for the right Scion to fill the role.

Will you complete Arthur’s legend?

Or are you doomed to fail, like so many others?

Grasping at Divinity

Once and Future supplements Origin through Demigod play, discussing the power of Mantles and the threat of failure that leaves behind unfinished legends.

Storyguiding Arthurian Legends

Once and Future contains:

  • Brand-new Welsh pantheon: the Plant Dôn
  • Storyguiding advice for running Arthurian-themed campaigns at all three levels of play
  • New rules for playing historical games
  • Three adventures at each level of play, meant to be enjoyed in a sequence or slotted independently into ongoing Scion Second Edition games

Requires Scion Second Edition Book One: Origin, Scion Second Edition Book Two: Hero, and Scion Second Edition Book Three: Demigod to play.

Discover what lurks in the hidden corners of myth.

There is more to The World than the children of the Gods — more than Heroes and Demigods. Legends speak of stranger things; of mortals who challenge the very Gods themselves, or who see Fate’s invisible workings laid bare; of creatures of every kith and kind who still dwell, here and there, alongside humanity; of sorcerers who tamper with things they should not, tempting the ire of the Gods with their hubris; and of the children of the Titans, whose inhuman ichor burns away at their very humanity.

What tales will you tell of such wonders?

Scion: Origin and Scion: Hero are required to use this book, although Scion: Demigod and Mysteries of the World are useful additions.

Scion Player’s Guide — Saints & Monsters contains:

  • Two new Callings: Outsider and Shepherd!
  • Expanded rules for playing Saints, Prophets, and Denizens!
  • Full rules for playing Sorcerers and Titanic Scions!
  • Edges, a new character creation system, and new takes on the Storypath system!

An extremely solid translation of Arthurian lore to Scion. Could use more explicit character creations notes, especially about how to tie a Pendragon candidate to a Pantheon (or not). [...]

My favourite Scion title since Mysteries of the World. The writeups on the pantheon and the mantles are especially good. [...]

This is one of those cases where a star rating is very, very difficult to give, because it feels like Once and Future contains two different books. One of them is a meticulously researched meditation on Arthuriana and a love letter to Welsh stor [...]

Fantastically written, wonderfully composed and masterfully presented, Once and Future is everything I could want both as a Scion player and a Storyteller. The knacks are flavourful, the Knight calling/player splat offers new ways to experience the wor [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
