Hey, so there is one thing that's confusing me a touch. When reading the Dark Apostasy loresheet, it says that you replace an in-clan discipline with either Blood Sorcery or Oblivion, and you also gain the ritual "Sense the Sin." Unless I'm missing something somewhere, I don't see a ritual called sense the sin in either sections for Blood Sorcery or Oblivion, the only thing I could think of being it would be Sin's Graceful Flame as an Oblivion Ceremony. Is the name just a misprint and it's supposed to be Sin's Graceful Flame that you get as a ceremony or am I missing Sense the Sin somewhere? And if it is Sin's Graceful Flame, if I take Blood Sorcery do I just not get a ritual, or do I still get the ceremony even if I don't have dots in Oblivion?

That Loresheet actually references an old Ritual that was later folded into Daimonion itself. When taking the Loresheet you're meant to choose a level 1 Blood Ritual or Oblivion Ceremony respective to your Discipline choice, as you would normally at character creation. You're not constrained to any specific Ritual or Ceremony outside of Ceremony prerequisite.

Sorry for the confusion! The Dark Apostacy Loresheet was meant to be updated when I went through and updated the art for this book. However it looks like that Loresheet got by me, so I've just uploaded the new version that will be appearing in our update of this book set to release near the end of October.

Since touchstones can be destroyed by embrace, ghouling, death, merely violating the belief their touchstone status is based on, or even by simply losing the ability to see them anymore; Diabolical Touchstone Dark Bargain Flaw seems extremely underscale since it is basically giving every STPC and PC more than 10 ways to instantly kill you. Aside from that this is hands down the best thing I have seen on Storyteller Vault in terms of quality, balance, art design, and forethought.

Thank you for the feedback! We'll be releasing a Deluxe version of this book in the future with additional mechanics and other content, as part of that release we're going to be updating everything in this book as well to give a fresh coat of pain and a hard look at re-balancing some of the merits and powers. As we've had a few people comment on the severity of Diabolical Touchstone we'll likely do a pass on it to make it less restrictive and more appealing.

Awesome book for one of my favourite clans! Small question though, in regards to the diabolic touch stone. What happens if your touch stone dies of old age? Is the character still immolated? Or do they get to pick a new one?

Diabolic Touchstone is meant to be quite a dire flaw as you're gaining an equal number of positive Merits for taking it, so regardless of how your Touchstone dies, it's meant to kill you. Thematically a Baali with this Dark Bargain would be pushed to ever-greater acts of questionable ethics to ensure their Touchstone's survival, from Ghouling them to more narrative attempts, such as bargaining to keep them safe or alive.

The stat blocks given in the Tools section on page 40, 41, and 42 are meant to be used for SPCs that you create for you campaign. If you were looking for something else, or expected something else, we'd like to know as this book will likely be getting an expansion and update in the future.

Hi, very nice book that takes into account the many sides of the Baali as first introduced in their own official Dark Ages Clanbook many, many years ago and some of the V20 Tal’Mahe’Ra books additions.

Of course there is some modernisation, including making Heretics a seperate thing from Moloch followers and combining the Swarm with the Nergali. Glad to see Celestials are still there albeit by a different name.

Excellent book and clearly a labour of love.

As a minor correction on page 21 Hell-Bound Heart lista three mortals as ingridients but in the mechanics it speaks of 9 mortals. Which is the correct amount? 9 seems to be that due to being mentioned twice in the mechanics but it could still be 3 if that was a later correction that was made in the ingridient list but missed on the mechanics.

Thank you for the compliments! While making the book we tried to scour what Baali lore there was in previous editions and their relation to other splats while also putting a bit of a spin on some of the themes that we thought would allow for interesting or more open-ended playstyles.

As for the error on the Hell-Bound Heart, it's meant to be 9 mortals as the procession is meant to carry a very steep cost for such character and play-altering Ceremony at a relatively early or mid-game level. Sorry for the confusion.
