My own personal spin on the Quietus discipline, including Assamite Sorcery. In it you will find:

  • Quietus was always a troubled discipline that the original game design never really knew what to do with so I took it apart and gave it more of a direction. The discipline now focuses on curses and poisons/venoms, their creation and their transmision.
  • 10 powers (old and new re-written) - used to spread curses and poisons to targets
  • 10 Poisons, taking inspiration from the original discipline, rolled into Assamite Sorcery
  • 10 Curses,  taking inspiration from the original discipline, rolled into Assamite Sorcery
  • Optional rules for Discipline Banes & Bonuses
  • Advice for which abilities are LARP friendly
  • Ranges, times, effects, conditions, risks and more added to make the powers less vague
  • Rules added for creating custom curses and poisons 
  • Rules for a new condition - Poisoned (featured in Serpentis as well) 
  • Part of the Shadowfall collection (my personal collection with more titles to come)
  • All rules are meant to be used in V5. The rules and powers are optional. This means you can pick and chose which powers you wish to include in your games or just take inspiration from the rules provided. 
I hope I did this discipline justice, it is different from what most players will be used to, but I trust it represents its origin in the lore far better.

How would you advise dealing with clans that get more than 3 disciplines under your remaster ? Like Ravnos that get access to 5 disciplines (fortitude, chimerstry, animalism, obfuscate, presence), or Banu Haqim who gets the regular Celerity and Obfuscate, but also both Quietus and Blood Sorcery ?

Thanks for any advice on this!

Hello Clement,

I am working on the clans remastered after this but until those are done, and for the sake of being able to use this product without needing to purchase anything else I would advise one of the following methods:
-method A: during character creation give the player only access to 3 disciplines (minus the predator type). As the ST offer the player the option of a clan specific discipline but at the cost of one of their other normal ones.
-method B: simply check the last version in which the clan still had access to the clan specific discipline and apply them to the current discipline scope.

My advice if your doing clan Banu Haqim let the players chose one of the variants:
-exile: obfuscate, Celerity and blood Sorcery
- Warrior: celerity, blood Sorcery and Quietus
- vizier: blood Sorcery, obfuscate and presence
- sorcere: obfuscate, blood Sorcery (2 dots instead of 1 with no 3rd discipline or just Quietus)

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
