100 Templar Knights for Mage: The Ascension

ADD TO WISHLIST >

The Templar Knights of Mage: The Ascension are the latest incarnation of the Knights Templar and are members of the Disparate Alliance. This supplement has 100 Templars that could be encountered. Each is named and given a brief description. Most Templar Knights, by their very nature, are dedicated to their cause, preparing for the final war against their enemy. The Templars can be used for brief encounters or as potential sources of adventure hooks.

This PDF supports Adobe layers and the page backgrounds and images can be disabled to make printing easier.

Here are some sample results:

  • Daniel Willis: Daniel is a doctor in the military and is therefore around a lot of people who get injured in combat as a result. The Knight uses this contact to look for potential new recruits to the Templar Knights, seeking out those who want something more from a fight than they are currently getting, a cause that they believe in. Though the majority of soldiers who might fall into such a category lack the potential to become an Aspirant, some can still become Brothers or Sisters in the order, or perhaps fellow travellers.
  • Darcie Foster: The Templar Knights communicate over the internet using coded references that only the Templars understand, but the Templars also know that their enemies communicate in similar ways. Darcie is one of those Templars who works for the organisation's cryptography department, attempting to decode messages from their enemies. The Technocracy's technological advantage makes it difficult to break their communications, but they are only one enemy, and not everyone is quite as skilled at communication encryption.
  • David Cantrell: David is a Knight who in some ways is a throwback to an earlier era. Though most modern Knights fight with modern weapons, David is one who teaches the use of older weapons, though he is perfectly capable of using a gun if need be. However, for those times when a gun just isn't a suitable weapon, David teaches other Knights how to use blades of all sorts. Knives may be the most common one, given that knives are still used today, but he also teaches Knights how to use swords, though situations when such are needed are far more uncommon.
  • Delilah Lloyd: Delilah is a Knight who is an extremist even by the standards of her order, though her fellow Knights do not suspect just how extreme Delilah has become. The Templars refer to themselves as the "loaves and fishes," a small force that will become a powerful multitude through a miracle and God's will. Delilah believes this, but she also believes that God's will needs some assistance. She is actively seeking to expand the influence of the Knights, perhaps not with new mages, but through anything else and, if she was wrong, surely she would be stopped by God.
  • Denis O'Scanlan: Denis is an Aspirant who is close to finishing their training and becoming a fully-fledged Knight. He is eagerly looking to his training's completion so that he can finally go properly out in the field and help the Templars in their divinely-inspired mission; something that is actually slowing down the final phase of his training as his trainers currently think Denis is a little too eager and needs to learn some patience. As a result, Denis is often sent to deal with matters that are important but tedious, as a way of teaching him this message.

Like most of the 100 character books put out by Azukial Games, this one is another solid contribution. The book provides short one paragraph entries for each of the 100 characters, providing gamemasters a seed to spark interesting npcs. The Tabl [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
