100 Boggans for Changeling: the Dreaming

ADD TO WISHLIST >

This supplement has 100 briefly described boggans that can be used in a game of Changeling: the Dreaming. In most cases, their court allegiance, and often their seeming, are not described, allowing a Storyteller to configure them as needed. They can be used as random Kithain encountered, or as friends or foes.

This PDF supports Adobe layers and the page backgrounds and images can be disabled to make printing easier.

Here are some sample results:

  • Cuimín Mac Alasdair: Cuimín, like many boggans, enjoys a drink or two, or perhaps more, and they specialise in making wine, not the beer or ales that many boggans seem to steer towards. They run a small, very boutique vineyard and winery, which produces a comparatively small amount of wine a year, though of rather superior quality. The best years Cuimín keeps for themselves, and perhaps their closest friends; they make the wine because they like drinking it, not purely as a business.
  • Daire O'Dowd: Daire is an investigator, or a private eye as they might be called in some places. What they investigate, and what they get paid, is a matter of great flexibility, though. Daire only takes on cases that are interesting, and payment is what the individual employing them can afford. Which on occasion is nothing, or perhaps something bartered for Daire's services. Daire prefers to aid those who truly need aid, and also prefers to avoid the cases that would be the bread and butter of another investigator.
  • Danny Russell: Danny is a wilder who spends a lot of time travelling and cooking, for they travel the roads in a camper van towing a catering trailer. As such, they can set up camp pretty much anywhere, providing cooked meals of a higher-than-normal quality than would normally be found at a catering trailer and at a reasonable price, too. Danny sometimes runs into problems, for there can be objections, official and otherwise, to someone just setting up a catering trailer wherever they please.
  • Deòiridh Grannda: An inveterate gossip, Deòiridh has the ability to get almost anyone to open up to her, sometimes with them giving out far more details than they intended. They can usually be found entertaining people in an upmarket cafe they own, where they also pick up more information from the chatter of visitors. An Unseelie boggan, Deòiridh uses the information obtained in this way to further enhance her standard of living, though being careful to ensure that nobody realises they are the one using the information, whether for blackmail, insider trading or anything else.
  • Doileag MacBheathain: Doileag is a childling who has only just emerged from their Chrysalis and is still quite young. Their new perception of the world is emerging in what they create, for they have more than a little skill as an artist, though only of what an ordinary person would consider to be fanciful scenes; everyday life but with a fantastic edge, showing hidden faces and beings hiding amongst the mundane scenes of existence. Their artistic talents are encouraged but their mortal parents are starting to get a little concerned.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
