Lupines: Tarry Not in Their Path

Monstrous Werewolves for V5!

“We spend a lot of time telling ourselves that we are at the very top of the food chain.  Humanity lords over the world and we lord over them.  Simple.  Humans have no natural predators, save us… assuming we can call ourselves ‘natural.’  It is a very comfortable spot at the very top. It is soothing to think that we are our own worst enemies.

It is not true, of course.  There is another level for which we serve as the prey."

Lupines: Tarry Not in Their Path is an update and expansion of The Darkness Owns to the V5 rules!  Inside you will find the tools and lore to make the Lupines truly worthy opponents to feature in your stories.

It is a well known truism within Cainite society; only the mad or desperate travel outside of the city.  Outside is where the Lupines live.  Outside is where the Kindred are weak and vulnerable.  Outside is a place of fear.

Return to a time when the Lupines were Terrifying

The Lupines: Tarry Not in Their Path features:

  • A new look at an old enemy from the Kindred's viewpoint - these aren't the Garou,
  • Written by a team that understands the game and lore around Vampire: the Masquerade -- including a multi Ennie-winning veteran author who wrote for White Wolf and Vampire,
  • New rules! Everything the Storyteller needs to introduce the Lupines into a chronicle is within this book,
  • New Loresheets, Antagonists, a new Rituals path, and a deep dive into Noddist lore,
  • Example SPCs, packs, and example scenes to make introducing the Lupines exciting!

Werewolves, not Garou

An interesting, somewhat refreshing take on Werewolves from the POV of Kindred; beautiful layout and art that is evocative of the subject matter. I like how it harkesns to VtM 1e in keeping Lupines as mysterious, monstrous and cursed. Fits into the the [...]

Much like The Darkness Owns The Lupines did for Revised and V20 this book brings the Lupines as the ultimate danger that lies on the outskirts of the city presented in the first edition of Vampire to V5. This is acomplished by changing the Lupi [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
