What does this Sabbat Book offer that others do not? I see that there is currently three big ones (The Black Hand by Judd - Kheil & Liddick, Guide Sabbat by Haller & Soldatovic, and then The Sword of Caine by Jenkins).

Could you explain what yours does differently and why one should purchase this one instead of the others? Of course it would be ideal to purchase all three and sample all of them but my gaming groups budget does not allow for this.

Hi Christopher, sorry for the delay in responding. The main focus of our guide was to bring the older iterations of the Sabbat, V20 and the 2nd Ed Revised, into V5.

Our main focus was on giving ST's and players a good mechanical grounding to use. As per the description, we focussed on: Paths of Enlightenment, Ritae, Disciplines, and Loresheets.

We also made sure to focus on keeping the mechanics lightweight. They were designed to evoke the past editions, whilst fitting in with the design of V5 without getting in the way your storytelling.

Heads up, pages 55 & 56 have (pg. XX) notations under the headings "Clan and Sire" and "Convictions and Touchstones" respectively.

Hi Jason. Thanks for the note. Sometimes in pdfs like these you often get XX oages whiere the pdf is not going to be printed as a book. Regardless, I will add it to my list of errata that will be going live sometime soon, as to not spam everyone who already got the book for every small fix.

Wonderful supplement, and most definitely better then the official, half-baked V5 Sabbat one.
I really smart choice resolving the Touchstones and Convictions by means of Vaulderie. So simple, yet so nice. The art is also gorgeous and evocative.
Considering the context of the supplement, only thing I miss is the Path of Nocturnal Redemption, from Montreal by Night.

Hi Yog, sorry for the delay in responding to you. Thank you for the kind words about the touchstones and convictions mechanics, they took a fair bit of tinkering!

On the topic of the Path of Nocturnal Redemption, we omitted it as we wanted to focus on delivering the core paths first. (We were also a little unsure as to what was acceptable regarding use of WoD IP, this being our first publication.)

Rest assured however, that I'm already hard at work converting a few new paths for our next release. Which will hopefully include some old classics and a growing fan-favourite.

It's interesting, but I'd miss the Beast Marks from Long Hard Road Out Of Hell if I used it. I think I'll try to think of some way of merging the Beast Marks system with this supplement's ideas.

On my first view, I would call it a great work that every one who is somewhat interested in the Sabbat should read. A fantastic transgression for the Sword of Caine. I don't know the official book by myself, but here is work done to make the Sabbat playable in V5. Mostly it takes the mechanical view and I am missing the Code of Milan. So i still would suggest a view into the Sabbat Rev. Guide. But with those two books, you can play.

Thank you kindly Marcel much appreciated. We very much wanted to stick to the mechanics you'd need to run the Sabbat, rather than diving too much into the lore.

We really enjoyed the take in the V5 Sabbat Guide, and the older content already does a wonderful job of portraying the Sword of Caine.

That said we'll be engaging in a bit more lore speculation in our upcoming releases, so stay tuned.

This is a great read, and really brings the feel of old Revised era Sabbat into the modern era better than the official product.
I will note though: at time of writing this, there where a couple typos I saw, including a misspelling of the site that some of the artwork was acquired from.

Hi Charles, we're glad you liked it and thanks for letting us know about the errors. We'd be very grateful if you can let us know about anything you spot (pg. numbers are a big help).

We're keeping track of things that slipped by, and will be releasing an update within the next few days. (We're hoping to catch any remaining errors all at once, just so we don't annoy everyone with too many updates.)

We're also looking at throwing in some custom character sheets for the trouble.

The book looks really nicely laid out. I think more people should definitely check it out. As the author of the Sword of Caine V5 book, I want to say: very nice job on this.

Erh, somehow, this is not being shown as a downloadable PDF.
Any idea of what is going on here?

It's resolved and reuploaded now. Should send you a notification. Terribly sorry about it. It looks like the recent formatting update didn't upload fully, or had some state change issues.

A Fan-Made product, which is superior to the official Sabbat-Book for V5 in every way. Just Whoa... These authors deserve every support, they can get!

Shall we assume since there is no downloadable file, that this is a joke product?

Hi there, I was updating the file and the STV didn't preserve the state. It's now uploaded correctly.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
