I was looking into getting this printed through Lulu, I keep getting the error message that the uploaded file has an unsupported trim size and won't allow me to print it.

In the comments you mention a 3rd version being uploaded soon, is this still being worked on?

Is the pdf encrypted? Could I take it to a print shop to get a hard copy? I'm too old to read this and utilize it on my phone. If I can get it printed at say Lulu I'd be more than happy to spend the money on the pdf.

Is the V20 Core book required to use this supplement? I didn't see it in the description. Thanks!

V20 Core or V20 dark age core (you can do with either) is required as it does not feature full rule writeup for mechanics

Howdy! Yes, V2 is the most recent. I keep meaning to delete the V1 file. V3 will be out soon, readers have found a few typos that'll be fixed shortly.

Thanks so much for your purchase!

Hi Jose! Thanks for your comment. Sadly, the STV currently doesn't not allow us to sell POD copies of content creator material. Hopefully in the future!

Vampire: The Masquerade has focused predominantly on the distant past or modern nights. I have had many players ask and wonder why no other eras are represented. Werewolf has covered this particular one. But, until now nobody covered it for Vampire. Well wonder and wait no longer. Ian, Adrian, Zack, Rachel, Josh, Ray, and Ryan have done this wonderful thing for us. Thank you guys, and in the words of Bill & Ted "Excellent!" *Air Guitar*

I noticed a strange review so I figured I'd address it. A reviewer named "Jimmy R." said he felt like California history was over-represented in the book. While California's gold rush is arguably the most important element of the wild west era, the history section is only 15 pages long (out of 155) and of that only 2-3 pages is dedicated to California.

In addition you will find 130+ pages of character development tools (like Merits & Flaws, Disciplines, and more), Storytelling suggestions, stock characters, and still more good stuff.

Enjoy :)

It isn't really strange.

It's an honest opinion that more than California could have been covered very easily, but that is consistently the only area covered in any real detail. I get that you live there so have more information on that area, but there's so much more to the Wild West than California. Tombstone has a really interesting and morally nuanced history that deserves more than "oh and the showdown at the OK Corral happened". New Mexico's outlaw history (Pancho Villa, anyone? Billy the Kid?) would have been really interesting as well.

I'm not saying that I regret buying the book. Just that it felt light on anywhere not California. The systems were all right. I just don't buy setting books for rules, generally. I buy them primarily for the setting and the cutdown the amount of research I have to do to run a setting to a couple of books rather than dozens of websites and multiple volumes.

Criticism isn't strange. That's part of the creative process.

Resorting to insult in very strange, firstly. I didnt address that directly in my comment but thats what made it so strange.

Secondly it's maybe 2% of the book that focuses on California. So it's also strange to say there was excessive focus on it.

Lastly, there was 13 pages of historical metaplot not related to California. So it's clear you failed to mention that for some reason, which is also strange.

Hence, my post. Thanks for your purchase.

I apologize if you felt insulted.
That was not my intent. Sarcasm in print often comes across that way.

I don't appreciate being called out because I didn't rate 5 stars and rave. But here we are.

But I stand by my review. I will reread the book and see if I get anything more out of it. If I do, I'll edit the review. If not, well, I tried. I'm pretty sure that's fair.

Your words were "There isn’t anything in this book that you can’t get by just using Werewolf Wild West and the basic V20 book. Other than the author’s ego and an extensive history of California." The first part is demonstrably false and the second is an insult. Thanks for the apology but your characterization of the events is specious at best. The review cannot be edited at 10 minutes, but thanks for that consideration. You're being called out for posting insults instead of reviews.

I've been having some trouble downloading the PDF onto my iPad. The internet keeps crashing every time I try. I'd blame the iPad if it wasn't for the fact that all other pdfs (including whole rulebooks) download without a problem. Would it be possible to offer a condensed file version?

Ive experimented with a condensed file version and it has been deleting pictures, so I havent been doing it. Sorry your having problems! Sounds like you've tried a bunch of times so I hate to recommend just trying again but I havent heard of this being a problem other than here. I will see if I can find compression software but like I said its been hard to find one that doesnt delete pictures.

I hope so! Its up to White Wolf. As of now, no Community Content PoDs are available. Right now I think the best thing we can do to get PoD is tweet support of the book at White Wolf and such until they feel its important. Thank you so much for your interest!

Hi! Ian Hogan, Lead Devleoper here.

V2 has the character sheet. V1 doesnt, was accidentally uploaded without it. V2 fixes that.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
