Changeling: Countless Dreams

ADD TO WISHLIST >

What Does the Future Hold?
Technology is the Endless Winter's herald
the future holds darkness and death for Changelings
the Dreaming will die
These are lies
told by Banality-ridden Changelings
and bitter Gladelings
who see the ISS streak by at night
or look down into the Earth's magma glow
or contemplate machines' potential
and fail to see the Dreaming
The Countless forge
new homes for themselves in Subspace
and a harmonious relationship with Humanity
from Dreams of the future

See what lurks in the heart of subspace, just beyond our sight. Harmony is broken, and their shattered prophets walk among us.

What becomes of the science fiction stories humans believe in more and more with every technocratic wonder released to the masses? What if the Arcadian Fae returning was only a side effect of the Dreams unleashed by the Moon Landing? What was the main effect? It's time for these secrets to be revealed.

Changeling: Countless Dreams includes:

Write-ups on the 6 realms of Subspace, the Countless' strange home both in the Dreaming and not.

The four Clades of Countless, including the mysterious Oppies who exist somewhere between the Countless and Inanimae cultures.

Five Ready Made Characters and a slew of adventure premises to help you jump right into the heart of Subspace.

New Realms, rules for creating UFO's (the Countless' strange moving Freeholds) and far more.

How much of this can be applicable to the lore of Changeling The Lost 2nd Ed? I could be wrong, but from what I can tell this was thrown completely out the door?

Countless Dreams is based on Changeling: the Dreaming, not Changeling: the Lost. While you could certainly mine it for ideas for CtL, it's a completely different game, completely different setting, and mostly different set of mechanics.

Plus, Countless Dreams was never canon. It can't be 'completely thrown out the door' since it was never 'inside' to begin with.

I have a few questions but I'll start with one at the moment

For Oppies since they lack a anchor, when they take fatal damage and revert to dreamform how exactly do they find another anchor? Do they seek out another impact side to cobble their facade again? Or do they seek out the original impact site and essentially reanchor themselves?

Maybe a silly question...
I note the different page count on the 'Mobile Final' versus the 'Print Final' versions, but I haven't found any real differences yet. Please explain, for I am confused...

The two files are formatted differently because a lot of people like the two column format especially if they want to print out the book, but that format is really difficult to navigate on a phone. The change, along with some art changes to make the file perform better on mobile devices resulted in a slightly different length. It is the exact same word count though.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
