Tribebook: Naghaluu

What If There Was Another?  A Breed Lost to the March of Time?  Similar to the Garou, but Like the Nuwisha, Not of the Garou...

Tribebook Naghaluu is an exploration into an all new dire wolf fera for Werewolf: the Apocalypse.  This all-new 59 page book is filled with the history, legends, and character options needed to play one of the Naghaluu.

The Naghaluu were active in the prehistoric Americas as Gaia's chosen Wyld hunters.  They patrolled the darkest places of the land and paid a deep price to keep Gaia from being overwhelmed by the unchecked urges of the Wyld.  Unfortunately, in the wake of the War of Rage the Bastet, Mokole and Ratkin of the Americas decided to exact their own type of revenge -- and the Naghaluu, with their superficial resemblance to the Garou, were their victims.

The Naghaluu's legacy remains -- if you know where to look.

An Explosive Secret Hidden Deep in the History of the Americas

Question: Could somebody please give some hint what the "big questions raised in Shattered Dreams and Werewolf's cosmology" are that this book answers?

I found the 'tribebook' to be an excellent and interesting look at the odder corners of the World of Darkness. The Naghaluu are something I wished existed in the modern nights!

But I'm puzzled by how exactly the Naghaluu Aspect Gifts work. From what I can tell:

You must be 3rd rank and purchase Dances Between the Moons general Gift. Doing so automatically grants you a choice of a 1st level Aspect Gift of your Aspect path. You can buy the Aspect Gifts normally from this point on. Do you gain a choice of a 1st level Gift from the opposite Aspect as well even if you can't use it until you change Aspects?

If you wish to change from one Aspect to another you must invoke the 'Beseeching Mother Luna' rite. From then on the new Aspect Gifts can be learned normally but the old Aspect is closed, and you are unable to learn new Gifts or use old Gifts of the previous Aspect.

Does this sound about right?

Hi Ralph,

By purchasing Dance Between Moons, you get both level 1 Aspect gifts. You can only use one at a time though and will have to purchase all the other Gifts normally. This is not the same as with Beseeching Mother Luna - where you need to purchase the gifts separately. If you wanted to, you should be able to learn Gifts of the Aspect your character is not not 'locked' into.

Thematically, the Naghaluu are a bit constrained in regards to their access to Aspect Gifts due to their frought relationship with Luna.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
