Blood Orgy in the House of Pain

ADD TO WISHLIST >

The Sabbat are coming.

You've seen the signs. Shapes watching you down dark streets. Hang-up calls at strange hours (who is awake at two in the afternoon?).  Last night someone left poor Wendell, the Nosferatu, lying in front of the dance club where you hunt, with a stake in his heart and his fangs yanked out and a note nailed to his forehead. It said: "get out of town."

So it's flee or fight. Or die the final death and see whatever terrible mysteries lie beyond.  You picked fight, partly from ennui and partly because fleeing sounded even more tiresome. And perhaps poor Wendell had something to do with it, although you'd never admit this out loud...

Blood Orgy in the House of Pain is an adventure for the first edition of Vampire the Masquerade.  The version of the game where vampires did nothing but murder eachother and lurk on rooftops in the shadows.

The book contains: A complete Sabbat lair, fully mapped and described in lavish detail.

Seventeen NPC foes, each more unspeakable than the last!

A complete set of six pregenerated Caramilla PCs, ready to go fang to fang with the blood-crazed Sabbat.

An entire appendix on ways to mutate and mutilate this adventure to suit your own strange needs.  Would you rather play as the Sabbat?  A bunch of Mages? Something weirder? We cater to all sorts here!

A blood-red, brain-dead festival of mayhem, just like Grandma used to make!

Thanks so much for taking the time to ask! The answer is: it's both.

We designed the adventure specifically so that it would fit either in the early '90s or in the present or at any point in between-whichever the Storyteller needs.

One odd consequence of taking this approach is that the only telephone mentioned in the entire story is a landline (but not a pay phone).

I see that it says its for the 1st edition of VtM, but is this set in the early 90s or modern nights?

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
