Is it possible to get a higher resolution or at least the pdf like that was done with the lunar map which had enough resolution to read the writing?

I needed this map... but it's only 2272 x 1600... pitiful size indeed! :(

While i would LOVE a great digital map of Creation, this is NOT it. there are hope for someone to make a great one or this getting updated, but compared to some of the 2nd Edition fan maps made for free, this does not live up to it even at this price.

Agreed on the resolution needing to be increased. It looks okay on my screen, but I've only got a 17" screen on my laptop, and I don't think it'd look good on a really big monitor. Multiple resolutions would be even better.

The amount of dead space on the edges is an issue too.

I feel that I have been cheated. The resolution is not what I expected. At least tell the resolution or show a preview / closeup of the map.

Very nice picture (I have the poster coming too) but I would offer two - hopefully constructive - critiques.

1 - Zooming in to a region, the map is very pixelated. For instance, zoom in on Goldenseal or Bluehaven, and the font, coastlines, and details lose resolution. May we get a very very high-rez version that we can zoom in close on? Or perhaps a set of regional maps that would fill the same purpose?

2 - For the size of the map picture, there's a lot of unused "marble" border around the dark brown "frame" border, that makes the picture bigger at the cost of what we'd be trying to see on the map itself. Would it be possible to crop this down and make better use of the file & pixel sizes?

Thanks!

Can you let the rest of us know the exact resolution of the map image? I was hoping to find one here but I didn't actually see it listed.

The map is a whooping 96 (!) dpi. Dimensions are 2272 x 1600 pixels, 23 x 16 inches. In this size it's nowhere near to be useable at the game table.

So, c'mon StephenLS, tell your Exalted crew buddies, fans need a high-res map. How else could we do a map project like you did in 1st Edition...

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
