Forgotten Fiends: Mystarodia

When the scholars of Creation speak of the inmates of Hell, the same few terrifying names spring from their lips: Cecelyne, Kimbery, the Ebon Dragon, dread Malfeas himself. But those are far from the only titans trapped in the demon realm.  The souls of the more esoteric Yozis also live, strive and scheme in shadow of their famous, fearsome siblings.

Forgotten Fiends introduces some of these strange new characters, such as the Mystarodia, the Vessel Beyond Possibility. This soul of Oramus once sailed the Time Beyond, a non-existent realm impossible pasts and futures, her own souls serving as her crew on her endless explorations. Now she rots in Malfeas as a hellish wreck, a single unpredictable gate to alternate time-lines resting in her hold. Her crew are scattered, each trying to come to terms with the loss of their freedom.

Forgotten Fiends: Mystarodia contains a third circle demon, seven second circle demons and two breeds of first circle demons, complete with Ex3 stats, and three artefacts.

i gotta ask, did farscape play a part in inspiring this fiend? because i am getting some heavy moira vibes from the 3rd circle demon proper and the defining soul.

It did indeed. Mystarodia is in fact an anagram of Tardis Moya. :)

i knew it. divinghast (probobly butchering the name) immediately struck me as being inspired by the doctor. and of course, all the differences can be explained by the fact that its a demon, and as such is warped into something monsterous.

Oddly, I wasn't thinking of the Doctor at all when I wrote Divertigast! I can see the parallel though, now that you mention it. I was more thinking of the mistaken identity spy comedy trope generally.

Thank you so much! I'm glad someone out there is enjoying this stuff! Well, since you're interested, I can ramble a little.

Unfortunately, Croupion, Cricetulus, the Wyrdigan and the concept of a missing soul come from a prophecy-related idea for a 3rd circle demon I came up with five years ago and so I can't remember exactly where they came from, other than presenting various ways of handing out dubious predictions. Re-working them was simple enough, since prophecy is just time travel for information.

At the most basic level, I started off matching up soul roles with the stereotypical star ship officer roles and worked from there. So Aegisara is the security officer and a Warden soul who has failed in her role spectacularly (I mean, all warden souls have failed miserably, but it's more obvious for Aegisara), so I wondered what the most ridiculously spectacular sort of vengeance would be. Scrazzazar is the engineering officer and also a little bit of a Red Dwarf...See more

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
